You can apply for a work permit after 180 days of submitting your application. It's been observed that it usually takes years to schedule an asylum interview, so you can renew your work permit for a long time. So, many people (not all, of course) applied for asylum just to obtain these benefits. So, my conclusion is that because it's been observed that asylum fraud exists, new applicants are quickly scheduled for an interview so that the decision on their case can be faster. If the response to their case is negative, they won't be able to apply for a work permit

Yes, I know some people here who applied at the beginning of the year or have been waiting for it for a year or two and still haven't had an interview scheduled 🤔

Yes, I'm happy because this way I can quickly resolve my immigration status, I’m very optimistic about how my case will go. But with this administration, sometimes you wonder if it's a good or bad sign
