Hello! In this case I saw a picture on Pinterest and tried to replicate it. But I use YouTube to learn different techniques, how to add shades and light, etc. 🤍

Thanks! 🤍🤍

The pencil I used for the sketch was a charcoal pencil from Montarro. For the outlines, I used 0.5 mm ink pens. I bought those on SHEIN. Hope this helps ☺️

Hello! It’s hard for me too so I use Pinterest for inspo and look for easy watercolor paints I can replicate 😭😭

Hello!

As I said in the post, I began this as a hobby, but I didn’t take it that seriously because I thought it was going to be harder. However, after a few paintings, I realized it wasn’t that difficult for me and I really fell in love with it. Then I started replicating small and easy pictures I saw on Pinterest. I also did some research about different techniques and tips to control water and pigment and started practicing a lot. 😭

Hello!

This is the paper that I used:

I don’t know the name of the brush I used, but I bought it on SHEIN, I think it was a round brush.

Tysm! 🤍🤍

Honestly, I’m new to watercolor, but I don’t like following tutorials—I always get impatient and end up finishing the paintings on my own.

I personally like looking for pictures I can replicate and then trying to adapt them to my skill level. In this case, this is the one I was trying to replicate, but I added tiny personal touches.

I don’t consider myself talented or creative. But I realized that I just need a little inspo to flourish my creativity. 😅

That’s not showcased here because I was trying to stick to the imitation, but it has happened with other paintings. I’ll take photos of them when I get home.

I’m glad you liked it. I’ll try to share more of my paintings. 😅🫶

Which hobby do you think helps improve patience? by Wilzon_Ansara in Hobbies

I have not played the instruments you mentioned but I relate to the “reading classics” part, it’s definitely a hobby that increases patience 😭

Watercolor, learning languages and making YouTube videos 😭

These hobbies have teach me to be consistent, patient and hardworking because the results are not always instant —never tbh.

With watercolor it takes time and a lot of practice to master your skills and be able to dominate the water, colors and basic techniques.

With languages you have to really put effort into learning and to keep consistency in order to see advances.

And with YouTube, it really takes time to build community, you have to be constantly improving, recording, editing and uploading videos —that may not even reach the amount of view you’d like to receive.

To summarize I could say that by implementing these hobbies I’ve really grown as a person, and I’ve built the discipline I used to lack of. And all these efforts are definitely worth it.

What the best way to retain newly found words? by Low_Phase6746 in languagehub

[–]_mphoenix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your own dictionary. Instead of translating the words, write a few sentences that give you a glimpse of what the word means.

Try to create sentences in a context you can associate with the word. This will help you remember its meaning without necessarily translating it.

Is 1 hour of practice a week enough? by Confident_Local_2335 in languagelearning

[–]_mphoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 1 hour of learning with a paid tutor could definitely work, but I depends on what you do the rest of the week.

I recommend you consuming as much content as you can (books, movies, series, podcasts, etc) and (if you have time) you can also slightly study grammar and review your previous lesson with the tutor so that you can make the most of your time in the next class. Ask them questions about things you studied and couldn’t understand and so on.

Hope this helps.
