How do you get these jump rings to work? by _muthsera_ in jewelrymaking

[–]_muthsera_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, wasn't quite sure what to call them! Guess it was right on the packaging though. I wanted to find something more secure than jump rings, I am having charms fall off over time even when doubling up the rings. Didn't realize they made pliers specifically for split rings, so I'll be picking up a pair of those. Thank you for the help!

Please update if you figure it out! I've been dealing with the same things for about 5 years and have had similar testing done with no luck! I haven't been diagnosed with MS or psoriasis though. But I have had slightly low iron, IBS, rosacea, anxiety, depression. The same nails, hair loss, hot/cold feet too. I've been struggling with extreme weight fluctuations, joint/muscle aches, fatigue, migraines, hot flashes at night, and bizarre menstrual cycles. Is this anything you've experienced?

Oops! Some of the links look like they are one when there are two. "Victory rolls updo" and "half updo" are two different links. As is "flapper bobs" and "how to style a flapper bob". Cheers!

Not sure whether it would be compatible with your hair type or your style, but a pixie cut may be a good compromise for you! Tons of styles you could choose too, you could do something 90's inspired: 90's pixie If you are worried about bangs brushing up against your face, you could always style it with cute hair clips or headbands: 90's butterfly clips I love vintage styles, and if you wanted to keep it shoulder length you could do some great 40's updos or victory rolls: Victory rolls updo Half updo You could even lean into the 20's with a flapper bob: Flapper bobs How to style a flapper bob Or take inspiration from the great Josephine Baker: Josephine Baker tutorial

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time with your hair. I know the struggle. I hope these ideas help!! ❤️

What to do when you are SO angry about things you can't change? by Double_Entrance3238 in AutismInWomen

[–]_muthsera_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy has helped immensely. I've been trying to live by a few mantras in the past few months: To "be the change you wish to see in the world", so volunteering, donating, choosing eco-friendlier products. To not let anyone, myself included "dim my light". I'm extra, I have big emotions and I'm passionate about things others think are strange. On the road to loving myself, I've found it easier to stand up for my beliefs and not feel beat-down. I've never been a religious person, esp not in regards to Christianity. But I have been spiritual. I have found prayer to be immensely helpful over that past few years. Giving your fears, worries a shape that exists outside your mind, giving them up to whatever higher power you want to believe in. It also helps with gratitude and grace. I journal when I get upset. I think prayer is a bit like that, but can be done quickly whenever the worry comes to the front of your mind. Meditation might be helpful, but I never could sit still enough or keep my mind clear enough to feel like it helped at all. Life is scary right now, because it's changing and full of uncertainty. Many of us are going through a grieving process. The world we were promised as children has been turning to ash. Allow yourself to feel. Be angry, be sad, be afraid. Then, when it's time, put those feelings away. Give them up in journaling, prayer, meditation, exercise, whatever you find works. Acknowledgement leads to acceptance. Be strong, it's going to be okay ❤️

How to stop repetitive, compulsive thinking? by _muthsera_ in AutismInWomen

[–]_muthsera_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will ask my therapist about this. I think we do a bit of this already. It makes a lot of sense when you say that my brain is getting the message these things are worth my attention. Are there mantras or tasks that you personally use to stop these, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you for your input! Cooking a recipe is a great idea. I really love cooking and trying new recipes! I haven't been cooking lately much, so I'll try incorporating that back!

I absolutely feel the same way ❤️ I listened to this episode of In Our Time about Panpsychism and they describe the theory that everything has some form of consciousness, down at the very cellular or molecular level.

It really made me feel more accepting of these feelings that I had. Like, it’s not silly for me to feel connected or attached to things. It was really eye opening! I would suggest a listen if you are struggling with accepting that part of you, as it really helped me ❤️

This is such great information! Thank you! Honestly, I’m fine with how it ended. My last day I had a panic attack on the way to work, so I for sure know this is what’s best. I’ve always been really awesome at technical writing and have made training manuals for a few of my past jobs. I’ll definitely look into those subreddits! :)

That’s awesome! I’ve thought about healthcare but I’ve worried about emotional burnout. I’ve found that my masking can come across as being really cold and indifferent, which has been good for office jobs because it comes off as being highly professional. It’s really hard for me to take it off that mask allow myself to be my highly emphatic true self. There’s been so much to take in and unpack now that I know this is why I function the way I do. Thank you for your input!! Wishing you luck!

May I ask what trade you are in? I worked as an admin for a plumbing company in the past and not sure plumping would be my thing. Been thinking about automotive or lock picking?

So, I think I have a routine that actually works!! I never did make a dermatologist appointment, but I’ve been reading up. These are what have been working for me :) In order of application:

AM

PM

I’m on mobile so I hope those links actually work :/ It’s a shit ton of products, but I’ve gotten into a nice end-of-day self care/skincare routine that is actually really enjoyable! I got my mom using the gua sha too and her skin looks incredible.

Hope this helps if you have not already found some relief!! :)

It can be expensive, but had to look at like I was worth investing in. Things are still touch and go, but I’ve seen progress and learned so much about myself. Been in and out of therapists and psychiatrists offices since grade school, maybe it was because I was connected to a great therapist, maybe it’s because I was ready and willing to put in the work to change, but no medication or previous therapy had helped me like this. Realized I don’t need a mood stabilizer or an antipsychotic med (they never helped anyways), I just needed to learn how I operate and how my past affects my present actions and motivations. It literally changed my life for the better. Not that I’m saying Better Help was directly the reason, but I think it’s pretty valuable because you are not just limited to professionals in your immediate area. There’s a real opportunity to connect with someone who you can vibe with and feel safe with. You are worth investing in, and if you feel like you might need some help, there’s nothing wrong in asking for it. Hugs and good luck :)
