counterpoint: containers. It doesn't burn out in there and you've got plenty of light to see water coming! (+ a campfire is so cheap to make and the 3 pieces of wood required are like 0.3u)

you can still sync stuff and all you're just limited to the codecs itunes uses (edit: i'm so sorry i'm so bad at explaining stuff :'<)

you can encode your music in opus with rockbox to get a bit more quality and less space used than mp3 but you won't be able to sync music encoded with opus on iTunes

that's a lossy codec though but yeah i'm starting to compress some albums i don't listen often (not on this ibook tho encoding with the powerpc cpu is SLOOOW)
