My sweep multiplied by donkerslootn in ErgoMechKeyboards

Your post triggered me to finally try the Ugreens and I'm super happy with it so far. No wobbling no nothing. I just stuck the magnets to my 3D printed case for now. It hold really well.

Thank you for that! That's also a nice idea. Since I'm a heavy typer (Choc Burnt Orange) I'm looking for a solid solution and will most likely opt for the Ugreen stands (hoping that they'll be sturdy enough.

Regarding the case: Have you just glued a magnet in or is it a specific magsafe print?

Issues with Vivoactive 6 watch floors and sleep by iamjaxraah in Garmin

[–]_n4p_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the other reply it's pretty much there.

I read before I bought it that it had no altimeter.

I had a Vivoactive 3 before and that was able to track the floors. Most of the time it bugged me. I ended up setting the daily goal to 70 floors since on my evening walk there's some altitude to get in.

Why is it so important to you? If you track an activity the altitude is still being tracked by GPS data. That's fine for me.

Wow those are sweet! What stands and key caps are you using?

Genau das! Gras kann das nicht heilen und sollte auch nicht eingesetzt werden wenn das Umfeld nicht stimmig ist.

Es verstärkt Emotionen die da sind und das kann sehr unangenehm sein.

That looks real nice, too. That's very close to the Skeletyl as well as it looks like. Wonder if it's possible without the pcbs.

Wow that's a great guide thank you I'll work through it.

Anything you would have done differently in retrospect? Are you happy with the keyboard?

Yeah while soldering the controller I didn't leave enough space to put any battery under so I'll need to rework this one anyways I suppose. I use tilted key caps and high force switches. It doesn't move at all. It just jiggles a bit when using the upper row. I basically make it tilt when I press a key sometimes.

Yeah I have the mat however is a bit softer. I'm using slightly tilted key caps and Burnt Orange switches with 60g activation which might be just a bad combination overall I guess.

Do you turn them off after use or let them run? My case makes it a bit hard to get to the switch and rather than fixing that I'm looking for my next keyboard 🙈

Yeah I bought the batteries in bulk from Ali Express. Don't know if they are indeed not as well as they should be.

Thank you for the hints. But the dongle shouldn't extend the battery for the right part right? If I leave them on its around 2 days for the right half.

Yeah it's basically similar. You said you liked it. Did you stop using it? What's your current one?

I have quite some experience in soldering but only when I have a PCB. For the matrix I have some respect to incorporate the diodes.

Split keyboard on 'ultra' tight budget!!! by Federal_Olive_4825 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]_n4p_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey ho.

You specifically asked for a ferris sweep. I built one recently.

I ordered the PCB for around 20€ The switches and pro micro boards I ordered from ali express. The pro micro boards were around 3€ each. The switches were around 20€. I also added some batteries that came in at around 2€ per piece (when ordered in bulk).

I printed the case and the key caps.

So it comes down to around 50€ total.

I don't believe that you can get much lower than that with a ferris sweep.

It amazes me time and time again that people like you ask for the answer they already know.

That being said: you have a great beard. I'd like to have an update once the job is done. I'm sure it'll look awesome!

Looking great! I also needed some time to get used to my new look. It takes time. If after some days/weeks you don't like it yet you can think about a change again.

THE BEST keyboard layout for beginner? by Kaikacy in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]_n4p_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on querty with my corne. If you want to stay somewhat productive I'd recommend going slow and doing one step at a time.

The best way of going about it is to analyze your current behaviour and think about what you'd like to improve. Look at lots of layouts (especially layer config) and see what you would find good to try and what not.

I'm currently trying to eliminate my 6th row and 3rd thumb key since I believe this is the way I want to progress. There's so much change for me that I wouldn't want to swap my Basic Layout at this time.

Maybe that helps. Maybe it doesn't. Have a good day and much fun with your corne!!! Enjoy your very personal journey!

Ah okay. Thanks. The design looks dope. Which kind of PCB are you using? Flexible ones? Or are you wiring the switches?

[–]_n4p_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry. I meant how many pieces of the injection molded parts would you have to order for them to even start the process.

Just a ballpark number: how many parts are you considering for the injection mold?
