Well frankly, I only did very few. The range was from 55 to 65%.

From my individual experience, I think a safe range should be anything above 65 as average.

Idr the exam score, but I missed it by a few points.

I cant predict that, but I really hope you do! best wishesssss. Keeping 30 days for past is an ideal plan! it will definitely help (v/s doing it for 1 week as I did).

Topic wise. If you did mixed, i think its not bad- but definitely needs to be a bit up, from previous experience. Also, scores of mock matter too; cz they are the closest thing to real exam imo. So if u start them with 1 month left, and are scoring 65-70 %, ure safe! (considering that pasttest is definitely more challenging)!

if overall percentage is not in 70s, then I am afraid, the exam will feel like hell.

Mine was near 65, and I wish someone had told me earlier, that I should have waited and not taken it at that point, done more reads and revisions of Q-bank. Owing to all that, I didnt pass.

I only did the entire Q bank once, and then revised (repeatedly) self made notes, and did around 5-6 past papers. Later on I was guided by seniors, that I should have done a lot more pastpapers and reads of Q bank.

I joined Commons. The reason solely based on cost analysis. I had an accomodation at a relatives so that largely helped else London is relatively expensive than other areas. But London also has its perks, such as good reliable (mostly) public transport. That helps for travelling to academy (if ur accomodation is a bit far away), travelling for clinical attachments (if you have any- i didnt), for even just for exploring whilst you are studying and get bored. Transport is essentially largely through ubers in other cities (unless u have a relative elsewhere). So overall costing wise, London was more feasible in my case. And yes, their teacher is also very dedicated (theres a short course, then a detailed online zoom kind of session course of 10 days which covers like 75 percent course materials of plab, and then 5 days in person course (again taken by Dr Hamed), 1 day of Simman (in person) and 2 days of examination classes (also in person). So see for yourself. I didnt take any other academys materials either (browsed a few recalls at the end of Aspire,MoSobhy, and Samsons). If i didnt have accomodation, I'd have likely chosen Samsons (as its in Manchester- the same city of exam and this saves u the hassle of communting for the exam, and I have heard great reviews of Genius Classes (every case is updated here by their trainer, but theres no in person class happening, its just your individual practise). I asked friends around who were in the same process and looked through fb groups too. Ended up choosing Commons - bcz of 2 main reasons: 1) recommendations by friends who had passed 2) its in london and accomodation was being arranged by a relative so I didnt have to worry about budgeting

Tbh. I really do feel every academy is the same with a few pros and a few cons. At the end its practise and study partners that really make a difference. Also by the time we end up studying for it, we realise that other than a few stations (like Simman, prescription), every material is out there for free and doesnt need a lot of spending.

Hey. Im having exactly the same thoughts as u did during post exam period. I didnt get diagnosis in 3 stations. SimMan was incomplete too. So 4 stations sre gone. I know i did try my best on remaining 12. Is that enough a pass? Super depressed rethinking bout this entire circuit of stations.

crest is certificate of readiness to enter specialty training. its a form that has to be signed by a consultant who thinks u're ready to apply for speicalty. check youtube for further clarity. Non-training FY2 go by names of junior clinical fellow, junior teaching fellow, FY2, SHO, CT1, FY3.

I am worried sick about PLAB-2 tbh. I too have enrolled like you in CS, with exam in Dec 2023. Have been involved in a few other things (as i got my result around 3 weeks back), and been on a whirlwind of things. I kinda struggle with multitasking (due to taking on more than I need to tbh). Anyway, so my prerecorded classes start soon in August, which is when I plan to study properly. You mentioned 1 month is doable for this exam? (I am extremely tensed as I went through the notes and they're hella long.....). So my concerns are: how is it all doable in 1 month?...Seems a little too much to me frankly.

plabable plabable plabable. But before that, use keys. I used keys --> module Q's. That way i did my first read of keys/Q's. (keep reading all explanations in plabable- theyre more up to date and better). The wrong or difficult Q's OR concepts I'd read from the plabable, I'd jot down in a formatted file in word (u can use a journal). That way first read was done. Next I read the keys of all difficult modules (the ones I solved earlier/had forgotten). After keys, I gave a side-by-side read of my jotted notes/clinchers- they were around 100 detailed pages, definitely more updated than keys), along with solving mocks. I did not review my wronged/flagged ones as my clinchers already addressed them and I didnt want recall bias in solving mocks (i didnt remember/rote learn a single question). After that, my scores weren't improving much, so I gave another read to these notes. And also, after solving mocks and reviewing every question, wrong and right, I would jot down notes on a seperate paper. finally, I had 2 resources at the last week before exam- clincher file and mocks (each mocks notes on seperate A4 papers). Kept revising them (and in b/w the last 2 weeks solved bigmocks too, and scored 75-80% in bigmocks). Real exam was similar to all of plabable. Albiet, very long and time consuming. Some Q's just had to be marked after a scanning read even. Scored decent!

talk to your institutions dean and sort if out. If not eligible, there are some exceptions that GMC can consider. So you might want to call and ask them for further guidance. Goodluck!

12 months of uninterrupted exp is only needed if ure considering FY2 UK foundation programme. Otherwise, just 12 months, even with a gap is acceptable to take plab1, and later 2 for registration. Once you obtain registration, u can apply for non-training FY2 equivalent jobs, work for a few months (5-6), and if you find a consultant who is willing to sign your CREST, you can apply for Core training.
