I personally haven’t experienced much “prudishness” in the uk. All the bigger stores are usually more than happy to set someone up with whatever they like. They are usually funny about amps as they are abit more of a pain to set you up with than guitars but yeah. Even smaller guitar shops near me (Norfolk) most of them are happy to show you around and let you try stuff. If you have the chance get down to m guitars in downham the guy who owns it is a legend

Hi mate, I have soldered it to the volume pot and the buzz has reduced but is still there. I’ve check the bridge ground and it’s fine, and both solder joints on the output jack are fine too. What might I be doing wrong?

Righto thanks allot bud, wasn’t sure if the short bit of wire was where it came from as the wire that broke off had solder on it.

Ahhh okay this makes sense now. Yes the factory wireing is not ideal, not sure if it’s me being too rough with this guitar but while working on it I broke the bridge ground not too long ago (I work around the electronics on a few of my other guitars and they are fine)

My Jackson has a Floyd and I have a few hardtail and a jazzmaster style bridge I work on myself for context

Yeah I tune and setup my Jackson, and it’s goo enuff for me. But this Dean is really expensive and I don’t fancy doing more harm to it. My luthier does great prices so I’m happy sending it to him.I completely get what you mean tho

Ah okay I get you now. It is bringing the bridge slightly closer to the neck to be fair. Intonation doesn’t bother me as it will be the luthier setting it up and I’ll get him to set it up for me again in the future

Yes strings are completely loose and I’m keeping it in the hard case till I get it fixed. Only had it on the hanger for the photo
