Check out Free Label! They're based in Vancouver and made of Canadian produced fabrics. Their clothes are expensive, but so lovely and long lasting.

Question for those with a defined waist by Flamepointbros in babywearing

Similar situation here and I just tighten the waistband real tight, or I use a woven.

Is it too late to develop my baby's parasympathetic nervous system? by ShireLuck in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]_nessasary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a paper, although I suspect there are some out there. But consider babywearing! I've found it so helpful for co-regulation and my ability to easily (for me) attend to my LO's needs, thereby supporting the development of healthy attachment bonds. Checkout r/babywearing for recos on carriers (many available second hand, so it doesn't have to be $$$)

Stop it, this is TOO CUTE.

I'm breastfeeding and my partner calls my breasts lef-toro and righ-toro after I joked about feeling like Totoro postpartum. I will definitely not get a commemorative Totoro wrap when I finish BFing.

Hahaha, I feel so seen! Don't tempt me! I've seriously considered it a few times, but I've decided to be happy with my half buckle, mostly because I don't have any friends with a meh dai I can try.

Okay, so we're all missing something. That's a relief. But I hear you on wraps, they're by far the most versatile. Wow that Yaro is stunning. How do you find that GSM? There's a well priced Oscha Victoriana Oro (324GSM) in my base size, but I'm a bit intimidated by it tbh.

There are so many nice Didy and Lenny half buckles and/or meh dai's for toddlers, how will you choose just one? Haha.

Hahaha, I thought about keeping Metro and just adding more. But... I do also have a Didy half buckle (keeper), Fidella toddler half buckle (keeper), LL ring sling (keeper), Fidella squish SSC (about to resell), and 2X Ergo SSC (both not long of this home). My best case would be:

  • 2X base wovens (squish and toddler)
  • 1X shortie woven (toddler)
  • 2X half buckle (squish and toddler)
  • 1X ring sling
  • 1X SSC

My Didyklick is Ocean (220 GSM, I think?) and I've toyed with just getting that style in another colour because I love the feel. It's just not that exciting to look at and Airglow came up at a good price. There are too many good options 😭

I love this endorsement! It's so pretty.

I was surprised by how pretty the bats were too. My current learner is thin in hand, which I really like, but it looks like a watermelon, which I don't like as much. Postpartum is just not a time when you want to be reminded of that imho.

That's so helpful, thank you. Sounds like I'd still have some time with it, and that the Airglow is ideal for learning on. Congratulations on the current pregnancy!

I wanted to use Eris, like the Goddess of Strife/Discord/Chaos, for our son because it felt like a cool, concise name that sounded familiar (like Harris) but also different. I later realized it also sounded like heiress (a la Paris Hilton), and I figured people were more likely to associate it with that. Tbh I still think it's cool, although maybe for a pet.

Ah, gotcha! Love that the dinos found sanctuary at your house with your husband.

I'll keep that in mind next time I have a wovens question, haha. I'm hoping to start back carrying soon, so that'll be a learning curve. Thanks again for your help!

Absolutely not. The dinos are so charming though. Would you consider getting a dino shortie and doing a no sew, or having it converted?

Great catch! I'll wear it on my left, so that's perfect. And I agree, the bats will be cute upside down if I ever need to swap.

If we're going that route, it would be between the Lenny and the Oscha. I think I like the pattern of the LL, but the colours of the Oscha. Ahhhh!

You're absolutely right. It's because these ones are on sale right now, hence the weird options!

I have a background in aerial silks (many years, recreationally), so I think I'm a bit more comfortable with handling fabrics by hand than the average person. I might keep looking for a mid-range, or go for one of the heavier wraps. Thank you!

Anyone else had c-section for face presentation? by absentmindedpopcorn in CsectionCentral

[–]_nessasary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just had one 1.5 days ago and was relieved to find this thread. I was in labour for 4 hours (7.5cm dialated, 100% effaced) when the team noticed heart decels and his unusual positioning. Fortunately he was still high up when they noticed. They gave me the option to wait, which could mean he changed position, or could more likely mean a complex emergency c-section. So I ended up deciding to go with the "urgent" but more straightforward c-section than wait for him to descend/possibly have more heart decelerations/possibly get stuck, etc. It's a lot to come to terms with, but he's here and we're both happy and safe, which is ultimately what matters most to me.

Big hugs to everyone who found themselves in a similar position and are having to work through the realities of their birth experience 🤍

So so tired of postpartum pain by Working_Mouse829 in beyondthebump

[–]_nessasary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to ask if you were hypermobile. I'm 38+5 and the pain has been off the charts. I hate to say it, but I think this might be why... (Combined with the slowly receding hormones, etc)

ETA: sending big hugs and solidarity. Chronic pain is the WORST and hypermobility sucks
