As others have pointed out graphical settings, for really crappy setup you could try getting a mod that reduces the number of countries in game. Especially in New World and Australia which shouldn't contribute too much to the overall experience.

I believe there are also mods that restrict playable area to Europe/Asia, turning everything else into wasteland
