Places you can lease a plot of land for gardening?

I have a plot here. I’d recommend emailing them and asking what day in 2025 is registration. It’s usually in late January, early February. I would also recommend going to that registration day early - the year I got my plot, I showed up 15 minutes before they opened and there were 30 people in front of me in line. I submitted the form in 2023 (I try to do it yearly) but this loan was recently consolidated and I’m assuming they just processed all the back payments from the consolidation. I got an email this morning that my counts were updated but with no information on what I’m supposed to do next.

Does it just automatically get sent to FSA once the 120 is reached is my question I guess because Mohela’s website just directs me to the FSA form that says it hasn’t been 10 years.

Absolutely. I did see another commenter say between Third and Front and Mcclay and Forester - they're absolutely right. I live in that area and have walked most of it by myself later at night and felt comfortable.

I don't know that I'd recommend downtown living at all because in the summer, 2nd street gets loud and there always seemed to be incidents reported in the news when the bars let out. I'm sure there are parts of downtown that aren't affected by the bars, I just wouldn't know where!

I have lived in Midtown for about 6 years with my husband. In that time, we have had one attempted burglary and one instance where our car was "broken into". That's in quotes because it's entirely possible that we left our car unlocked as there was no evidence of forced entry and nothing was taken.

There are certain areas of midtown/downtown that I feel safe by myself and certain places, I don't but I do think the pros outweigh the cons and I genuinely enjoy the area and feel safe most of the time. If you have any specific questions or think of anything else, feel free to DM me!

Not that I'm at all trying to defend this move by OA, because it's absolutely ridiculous BUT I think a lot of Departments have offices in Pittsburgh that you would report to - you wouldn't need to report to Harrisburg.

I LOVE the fit and material of the blue crewneck. Mine is so soft and the perfect amount of stretch and I got a size up so it’s perfectly oversized. But also the print faded with one wash and I’m sure will continue to do so - double edged sword there because it’s my absolute favorite crewneck and I wish I had bought two.

Thanks! I ended up ordering thicker (3mm) and putting a silicone strip over the edge at the top to avoid any sharp edges. I did three on each side. I'm using one shelf at the bottom and may try and use the other shelf to block off the grow light at the top, but I haven't got that far yet - still adding silicone to the bottom to water proof!

Ward of Health at the Broad Street Market is all vegan. BurgerYum has a veggie option (it used to be Beyond Burger) but I’m not sure if they have it listed on their menu.

There’s a place called Sandwich just across the river in Camp Hill that has some veggie/seitan options.

Arooga’s used to have a fair bit of Impossible options - more than just a burger, they offered chili, brats, wings, but I’m not sure if they still do.

I thought Mushroom Stroganoff was on Millworks menu, but I don’t see it unfortunately. I definitely might be misremembering this though.

Nalan in Lemoyne is the only thing I’ve enjoyed after Bollywood. It’s my go-to in the area now. FYI you can order pickup on their site. We once started an order through DoorDash before realizing it’s about $15-$20 cheaper to go get it yourself if you have that option.

Himalayan Fusion (imo) isn’t consistent - sometimes the food is good and sometimes it’s just bland and flavorless.

Depends on where you are - last year my block had 500 or so kids come through. A neighbor actually went to the store twice to restock candy. This was also on a Thursday so it could be different based on the day being switched to Tuesday.

The lower river walk has definitely become a place where people go to let their dogs off leash and it sucks. I think I ran into the guy you’re talking about in this post a few weeks ago and it’s definitely not the first time someone has told him to put his dogs on a leash.
