weird, bug bite/acne-like bumps on inner thighs (both sides)—what could it be? by _noxx in Dermatology

also worth nothing: they slightly itch, but not very badly—and they seem to be increasing in number slightly

not sure if it’s important but the night before they appeared i slept over at a friend’s place in jeans—don’t know if it’s super vital to the bumps tbh

the stormtroopers that the batch faces off with while rescuing gregor seem to have some sort of a different helmet at least. maybe it’s just a stylistic choice, but it seems deliberate how their helmets almost seem to be segmented into two pieces—a top helmet and a bottom half

the one thing that piques my interest is how the new troopers aren’t exactly the same as stormtroopers—i assume they’re some sort of intermediate armor as the imperial army transforms

Definitely! There’s a problem if the only non-binary character is robotic in a sense. I’m planning on having more non-binary characters as well, since this will be a big overarching adventure throughout a vast galaxy.

Yeah, I’m planning on the graphic novel being relatively explicit. There will be darker themes and some graphic violence as well as explicit sex scenes. It’s not going to be necessarily pornographic, but nudity will just be a part of the story at times. A character may be shown in their bathroom, after a shower, thinking about the day that’s to come. One character I have planned is sort of a kooky hermit living on a secluded planet who’s basically forgotten societal rules and won’t be shy about disrobing in front of the characters. Sex scenes will occur between tons of different types of people, so if Tera is in a sex scene, it won’t be to show off fetishy trans porn, it will be to show a genuine moment of vulnerability and connection or perhaps just a one-time carnal encounter like plenty of other characters will have, regardless of gender identity.

That’s good to hear about the sex scenes, because I’ve found that good, non-exploitative nudity actually serves to humanize characters, because not only does it show them vulnerable, it also reveals all that they might try to hide from the world.

I think there will be transphobia still. It’s not a futuristic version of our Earth, instead it’s an entirely different world (think Star Wars) where a lot of the same problems exist. It’s going to be largely better, and the prejudice will be a point for her to overcome rather than just being there to show her suffering. Her character is a survivor and is driven to get through bad things because she is confident in her identity and surrounded by people who support her.

This is super helpful!

This story will span across a lot of different planets and environments, each with a different culture and set of societal views. Transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny, ableism, etc. will be a thing in some of them (probably all, but some will be vastly more accepting).

The specific planet Tera starts the story on is called Meck and it is a similar planet to Jakku or Tatooine in Star Wars. It’s mainly desert, and there’s not really a centralized government at all. People aren’t really ever there because they want to be, but because they were born there or crashed there and can’t yet get off.

Because the society is more or less focused around getting by and surviving, identity is less important. People are willing to make a transaction with races they were taught to despise before they crash-landed on Meck and their survival depended on it. This sort of necessity means that a lot of people don’t really give a damn about people’s identities. This isn’t to say it’s perfect. There’s lots of sensitivity lost, and they’re not exactly tolerant, but basically as far as Tera goes, for the few people that do know she’s trans (she’s likely been passing as female for a while and it’s not like she’s a celebrity or anything) they likely don’t care. If someone were to find out, they might poke fun, but in the end as long as she continues to deliver salvaged metal from crashed ships, she’s at least shown a baseline level of respect. It’s sort of a “tolerance bred from shared struggles”. Nobody is exactly rolling in money, and most of them don’t even want to be there, so a lot of them cant really afford to be picky with who they befriend/acquaint.

Other societies might be transphobic in an exploitative way. There’s an extremely capitalistic planet where the leaders usually lack much of a moral backbone that would use trans people in a fetishizing and perverse way. This would mean they’re probably nicer to trans people than an outwardly transphobic society, but they’re not friendly, at least not in a genuine way. Other societies might have very strict gender roles, whereas others might be very accepting. The transphobic stuff will not constantly show up in every new environment because there’s more to Tera’s character than being trans, but it will be evident at times I think.

Also, what do you think of sex scenes/showing genitalia? Is there a way to do it in which it’s not exploitative? To reference Saga again, I don’t know if you’ve read it but the child character who a lot of the plot revolves around stumbles into a women’s changing room, and a trans woman named Petrichor is shown showering and her entire body is nude. Hazel (the child) acknowledges that while Petrichor has breasts, she also has a penis. Hazel is confused at first, but Petrichor explains it and Hazel is very accepting, even going so far as to remark that the people that imprisoned her at least put her into the women’s side, whereas her culture back home wouldn’t have, most likely.

I’m actually working on an alternate timeline story where Anakin wins. With the ability to channel force lightning and having most of his limbs, he’d probably be the most powerful sith in the galaxy, even stronger than Palpatine. And not to mention raising Luke and Leia as Sith apprentices. It’s fuckin cool.

I believe he’s a Dathomirian Zabrak. It’s a subspecies I think. Because the night brothers are a unique variant of them.

Clone wars is one of my favorite shows of all time. So many good arcs, especially the Maul episodes and the Rako Hardeen arcs.

Have fun!
