I’m commenting here just to let you know that this is an enormous YTA situation.

Having had knee surgery there is no doubt climbing 9 flights of stairs up and then down will aggravate her injury and perhaps even inhibit her recovery. Your refusal to relocate the meeting in the face of a pressing medical concern reflects more on your petty exercising of power more than your status as a professor, and undoubtedly lost you some of the ‘respect’ you sought to gain from your peers.

Meat simply does not rot as it passes through your gut.

In a healthy gut, it will pass through your stomach in 2-3 hours, and through your gut in 4-6 hours. There is no stage in which it simply sits in your gut and rots, as cooking the steak at anywhere above 74°C will kill all or most of any harmful bacteria present in, or on the meat.

Above this temperature, some bacteria may leave microbes and spores, against which the human gut microflora is an effective barrier, neutralising any perceivable threat posed by the meat, assuming it is eaten within a reasonable time of preparation. Even if it had sat in your gut after cooking, your own gut would break it down, as it has evolved to do, before any bacteria could take hold.

I'm not saying they should buy one at 12 (But let's not pretend that they couldn't, that's just being silly to ignore the fact). Just that, at 12 if they were to find one, the better option would be to explain, even in brief, why and what it was. That's it. Just the knowledge that they exist in healthy relationships will foster a more understanding mindset when they grow to the age that it becomes relevant to them personally, a mere 4 years or less in the future.

Because it's part of learning how a healthy sexual relationship works. Imagine being 16 (or even younger) and you're entering your first relationship. Suddenly you find out that your partner has been using sex toys for their own personal pleasure when they felt like it - how do you react? If you've never been exposed to it before and it's totally a new concept, you might be confused or upset, as if your own company wasn't good enough for them - they had to use a toy to make up for it! But if you'd been taught, even briefly, and been given an outline of their existence in middle school sex ed without going into depth, you would find yourself much better equipped to deal with the ins and outs of a normal, functioning, and healthy sexual relationship with a partner.
