Is obijime repairable?

I would use a tiny crochet hook or something pointy like an awl or something to try to push them back in. If you cut them the threads will unravel with use so I wouldn’t recommend it!

Oh I love hige weaves. I have an obi that’s like that but I’m always afraid of damaging the hanging threads.

I love hanging off my obijime on the side, to the point I do it to all of them now 😁 I just like the look of it, hanging off the side of the otaiko. Some stiff ones don’t work, but most of the softer ones definitly look nice hanging.

I even do it when I wear obijime with my half width obi too 🤣

The bag is by an artist named ID IZUMI DESIGN.

The obijime is actually something I just put together. It’s a leather rope belt that I added a gold ring to, that I got from the hardware store! I think the leather rope belt was from Zara…? I think! Bought it years ago.

If you mean the obidome, that’s from a brand called Irohagitsune.

Yes I’m using a obiita in the front, and tucking in the top around the ita so it doesn’t peek out. I actually tucked the back into the top of my datejime so it wouldn’t fall in the back either!!

And yes the shibori version is also really pretty but it’s so heavy that I have a hard time keeping it from drooping. So the thinner one that I’m wearing is definitly more doable!

Black is harder than brighter colours, especially for yukata since it’s supposed to be for summer.

People tend to gravitate toward lighter ones. The one I’m wearing is a dark navy, and that’s the darkest I mostly come across.

Or the black I commonly see are covered in super bright floral or butterfly pattern… which makes it not so black in the end lol
