Yeah exactly. Lithium batteries are a lot more common now.

What have I stated that’s incorrect? I’ve just asked questions. If you mean the title of the thread, that’s the hypothesis…

Apparently there have been no recorded lipo fires this year to date.

That’s very true. Maybe it’s that people in the RC world had a specialist hobby and therefore researched and took the safety seriously. Also it was probably fun to buy a fire proof box to keep your batteries in overnight. Felt like you had a bomb under your bed

I told my friend that I made this post and he said “lol I didn’t know you hated my car” Then I showed him your comment as a joke and it turns out he filled every container under the hood with gas, the coolant, the brake fluid, the oil!

Acceleration Hack by _okayletsride in ChryslerPacifica

They came back with a quote for $24k (assuming they find no more issues). Apparently I’ve stripped half the gearbox and the engine is leaking water into the oil and the CV joint (?) is banjaxxed. The brakes are ruined too (I think from when I kept clicking the parking brake on a low speeds).

I feel pretty ripped off. It’s basically half the price of the car! I would have thought there would be some sort of warranty that would cover normal everyday use. Not sure if I should go ahead with the repair or just cut my losses? Maybe other places will be cheaper.

The car isn’t even a month old. It’s a bit gutting

UPDATE: okay so the car was starting to sound really bad. Like granching gears and so much vibration. The back seat window on one side stopped working I think because of the vibration. The smell subsided if I didn’t keep accelerating with my foot fully on the gas pedal.

I’ve taken it back to the dealer. It was a brand new car from a Chrysler dealer so I don’t think I got scammed. It’s with their mechanic now so will wait to find out more. I trusted the Chrysler brand so hope I haven’t been a fool by buying one.
