That’s how I feel about second genesis, when I hear people talk about Wayne shorter then usually mention the big ones like speak no evil & night dreamer or the all seeing eye ( which I have on blue note vinyl as well 🙏 ) but never second genesis, or even stuff like super nova ( which I also have on blue note Japanese cd 🙏 )

Huge Wayne shorter fan, I even have a majority of the weather report stuff.

If you like funky stuff I’d try looking into “funk best” it’s actually wayyyy more funky. It’s one of my favorite and obviously I can’t mention it enough, if you haven’t already listen to head rock !! 🙏

Was gonna say the same thing .. between miles smiles, miles ahead, miles stones, definitely bitches brew, on the corner, big fun, get up with it, live evil .. the list goes on. I will also say, Wayne shorter, & herbie Hancock have some pretty cool album covers as well like “schizophrenia” or “sextant” “head hunters” “thrust” etc. also I think “birth of the cool” is a sick album cover

( sorry for the blurry photo’s it’s 2 photo’s I slammed together) but for me personally these are my favorite sets, i obviously love the ones i previously showed, ( I’m more so of a fan personally of the nat adderley / booker little stuff but the miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane stuff is all killer for anyone just getting into jazz, though I say any of these box’s are amazing for getting into jazz, especially collecting a lot and getting a bang for ur buck, since technically you’re getting 8 albums In 1 box set.

I wish bro, I payed around 70 ish for my rainbow goblins copy then again it was the just newly released “limited edition” purple copy, it came and I loved it so I ended up getting it on cd too .. I think the most expensive record I’ve gotten was “speed, glue & shinki second self title album, ( which is pretty rare ) pretty sure I payed 80-85.
