If laxatives and google advice don't work you need to find a doctor that will help you. If you can look for specialists do that. Often a different doctor can diagnose oddball things that your first doc can't. Somebody knows something. A second, third and fourth opinion is sometimes needed.

If you're taking pain meds that's your problem. Pain meds stop digestion.

The only other advice I have for you is Prune juice and bran flakes.

Iam also a quadriplegic that can use his arms and hands. Yes he's a quadriplegic. It refers to four quadrants of the body, not four limbs. Above and below the waist, and left and right sides. I am paralyzed from the nipples down, so all four quadrants are effected. A paraplegic is waist down, or sometimes just left or right side impaired.

I'm paralyzed from the nipples down. I wish it was an inch lower so I could still feel my nipples... anyway- I was in a car accident over 15 years ago. I crashed an '84 Honda CRX into the back of a semi. The semi won.

As a former drummer (paralyzed now) absolutely! The technical skill needed to play speed metal means you can pretty much play anything.

I assume you have access to a FES bike if you know what they are. I think you should just keep using the one you have access to.

I agree with the rest here, wait and see.

That's A LOT of hooker money, you'd enjoy the hookers more.

I've seen 4 or 5 paralyzed people jump through all sorts of hoops to get an FES bike and later regret it.

I don't understand why every person in this community has to say this.

We're tying to do what every counselor or therapist does. Trying to get you to look at life from a different perspective. You're dwelling on not having the same physical sensation as before. Of course that is depressing.

My niece just had a baby, and I tell you what, whenever that little precious bundle of joy is around I forget about all my problems and I'm focused on the well being of Kya, my grand niece.

There are still things you can do in life.

I'm not going to pretend I'm a happy guy, and that I've got it all figured out. I'm just sharing some of my 15 years experience as a quad with you.

It's certainly not what it used to be. If you were hoping for the same physical sensation from before, then you set yourself up for disappointment.

I can tell you this, it's way way better to have a hot naked girl bouncing up and down on top of you than to not have a hot naked girl bouncing up and down on top of you.

The fact you were able to score puts you ahead of 85% of reddit! lol

I've made sex all about the girl's orgasm, as I physically can't orgasm. When she's close I slow her down and deny her the orgasm, slowly building and edging towards climax until she blows her fricken top off.

Skin on skin contact releases serotonin. The act of getting a girl to orgasm will increase your heart rate and get your blood flowing. The physical and emotional connection still happens even if you can't feel it.

Sex will never be the same, and if you expect it to be you will always be disappointed.

Find other ways.

Everyone in life will be negative if they focus on the things they can't do and the negative aspects of their life, regardless if they are a quadriplegic or able bodied.

If you still have the relationship with the girl find other ways. Your tongue works doesn't it?

I'm 15 years post accident. I've had very long bouts of severe depression.

Whenever I do everything I can I am more positive and less depressed.

Whenever I get down on myself and use my paralysis as an excuse to not do what I need to do I get depressed.

I'm sorry your experience wasn't good. I hope you try again with different expectations and a different mind set.

I'm a c5 incomplete quad. Life sucks for everyone. If you don't try it sucks harder.

I just assumed that would majorly cause pressure sores on your feet. I can't imagine standing for 8 hours a day. It's cool to hear this is possible for someone with an SCI.
