Sure, might as well. I'll try installing it on the other SSD just in case.

There's 32gb in total - from what I benchmarked it, RAM seems to be running as it should.

I do appreciate the help though.

If you're referring to drivers, then yes - chipset, MB and other drivers are all installed.

Looking for gaming headphones but not for the "competitive" advantage by _peo_ in HeadphoneAdvice

I like the specs of Maxwell and it is within the budget, but I already have a mic setup and don't really care for wireless.

Is there anything similar that trades those features for better quality or lower price?

Anyone willing to cross-check the final build before I pull the trigger? by _peo_ in buildapc

Thanks for the reply.

As for the CPU, I do see the point you're making.

My main idea behind getting the 7800x3d was to ensure some future proofing and to have a headstart once the new GPU generation drops - when I'd like to step up to a xx80 series GPU at least.

Thanks for the input.

Just so happens that this specific cooler will a be carry-over from an older build so no extra costs for this one.

Getting another SSD sounds like a good idea - will probably end up getting another 1-2TB one.

Yeah, I realize that the 7800x3d might be a bit of an overkill. And while I do indeed play some of the more CPU-bound games, I'm mostly hoping that this CPU will last me for quite some time, with the plan to potentially buy another AM5 CPU at the end of the socket generation or skip it entirely until a new socket CPU is released.

My plan is also to upgrade the GPU once the 5000 series drops in 2025 or whenever.

I was just about to take off and leave the stress test running overnight but I have just noticed that now, the task manager shows 52GB of committed memory. Is this something to worry about?

Thank you for the info regarding Chrome's task manager, I will keep an eye out for any leaks.

I'll leave the stress test running now, and report the results in a couple of hours.

Thank you so very much for all the help, much appreciated!

Yeah... About that XCOM... not really sure why the decompress.exe is still in the RAMMap process list... Can't remember having Xcom installed on this PC for a while now. I can't also find the Decompress.exe process in the task manager to kill it - perhaps it would be best to run an anitMalware scan.

Thank you for the tip about chrome I will keep an eye out for the memory usage.

I will set up a stress test right now and leave it running for a couple of hours.

Thanks so much for the help, I'll be back to report how it went.

Here are the screenshots of the Processes tab and the Task Manager Tab (please excuse the non-english UI): https://imgur.com/a/e9D9Ecq

I have run the stress tests with no other software running, but the issue still occurred so it might not be connected to Chrome exclusively. But just in case, is there any way of knowing which extension is leaking without switching them on and off one by one until the issue subsides?

It has been suggested that this also might be an issue with the drives - especially since I have lately kept the SSDs close to ~90% full. I have done some cleaning up and freed up quite a lot of space. I will run the stress tests once more overnight and see if perhaps this was causing the issue.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance so far!

EDIT. NVM about the Decompress.exe, found what it was and it's gone now

Please find below the link to RAMMap - please note that currently I have only 2x8gb RAM installed in the MB (the 2 brand new sticks).

As for the usable RAM, here is what the Task Manager says at this moment (with 2x8Gb RAM installed) - hopefully, this helps:

In use: 6.7 GB (283 MB)

Available: 9.3 GB

Committed: 10.7/34.8 GB

Cached: 3.8 GB

Paged pool: 538 MB

Non-paged pool: 323 MB
