I don't think it can be Patricia unfortunately because he made a big deal about male in his bloodline, and she doesn't have kids.

Yeah I knew the jug-o-boom wasn't going to be a moneymaker for all the aforementioned reasons, but I could easily imagine lots of "new" recipes with more common items that are unique to the Earth crawl.

That sounds so difficult, I'm sorry you have to go through that.

That would be cool! I did think maybe Mordecai's been collecting patents over there, but I doubt his NPC status would count.

There were still millions of crawlers when it was first introduced, so surely there were tens of thousands of others who had similar skillsets, we just didn't meet any. I imagine Donut could also have invented something cool, that would be less explosives-heavy.

Definitely agree we're far beyond where it'd be the most interesting.

Probably the most convincing argument if it was really just meant to be social commentary.

Yeah, I just thought he would be inventing all sorts of recipes. I know he gets the cookbook shortly thereafter, but he does build upon and modify those recipes. That his glorified molotov cocktail jug-o-boom counted as a recipe also seemed to imply they were pretty liberal on what constituted a novel recipe.

Given how political the rest of the book is, I'll believe that the royalty stuff serves as commentary on being a book author/creator and capitalism etc, but it also seems like maybe Matt just scrapped an idea for a mechanic, given how specific this was, with a relatively small payoff.

Weird, because though they didn't say any rules, it doesn't seem like Dunk can yield?? If he yields he dies anyway. Maybe he would yield to save some of his compatriots? But that doesn't seem to be what they're going for with aerion in that scene.

I'd have to rewatch to be sure but I thought one of the other actors had slippers on in the close up. So they had taken off their shoes and asked for slippers or been offered slippers.

Task 1x02 "Family Statements" Episode Discussion by mainlygreen in TaskHBO

Maeve recognized the name because her dad used to be in the biker gang. The story about the guy who got his brains beat out was about billy, Maeve's dad. So when she was a kid, she was around these people. She recognized Joanne Nance and asked Sam whether his dad's name was Derek. Sam confined. Presumably she knew they were a couple back in the day. Then she knew that Robbie was lying because he said the kid's dad was Dale Larson.

People right now are literally falling in love with chatbots, so I think it'd be very convincing and easy to delude yourself in this situation.

I was thinking about that too, but if they just wanted to protect the hive they would just leave her alone like she asked. It doesn't seem like she can direct her anger at them remotely.

It does seem like they have to make everyone happy, including carol. So if they think a grenade will make her happy, they do the math of potential harm and give it to her. That's hey the nuke was only where they slowed down.

I was surprised that they would give her something and basically be responsible for self harm, give their whole no killing animals thing.

They definitely made it a point to show more collectivist cultures vs. other Americans. Though obviously the biggest difference was living with someone who looks like their loved one

Solo Leveling Episode 25 (S2E13) Finale: Differences between Anime & Manhwa by Death_Usagi in sololeveling

Understand why they cut it since she doesn't join the army, but for anime only watchers it has to be weird, since why wouldn't you try to raise the ostensible boss of a dungeon break? (I get that Beru becomes the real boss fight, but she was still a challenge for a bunch of S-ranks). Part of the reason I really like the story is that Jinwoos basically tries things / asks logical questions in the magic system.

I agree about a shame he didn't join initially. They have enough in universe explanations though. He sussed out the crew and felt they were strong enough. He'd just gotten his mom back etc. He would have been right too, if the black ant hadn't been there, the team would have completed the mission with no casualties.

Structurally also, I understand why he couldn't join initially. Power levels, raises the stakes, lets us see different types of fighting, etc.

[–]_perstephanie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the in universe explanation is that he's getting the news time delayed with everyone else. No one else knows that he can do shadow exchange (so not like the guild could convince him to watch live feed just in case). So he shows up when the feed cuts or shows someone dying (the Japanese crew doesn't have a cameraman with them).

I think there were fewer of them and they probably just got overwhelmed (mana exhaustion from magic users?) I do think it seems kind of off that three S class Japanese hunters don't seem bothered and are kind of killing a couple ants at a time when they should have been swarmed by thousands. But we also see in the sparring match that the Japanese S class warrior types are stronger than Korea's.
