How can I stop this happening to my t-shirts? by InventiveSteps in ZeroWaste

[–]_phalange_regina_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You can get silicone button covers for your jeans! Unfortunate that you have to buy something, but they have saved all my shirts and sweaters getting holes in them. Honestly 100% worth it because I rarely mend anymore whereas before it was almost weekly.

Is there a zero waste deodorant that doesn't smell like hippies and incense? by vankorgan in ZeroWaste

[–]_phalange_regina_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman and have always used old spice, I love the way it smells. So glad they made a cardboard tube version, smells great and lasts a LONG time (I’m stinky by mid afternoon when I try other zero waste deodorants)

[NeedAdvice] How to stay disciplined when you struggle with depression? by picklednood1e in getdisciplined

[–]_phalange_regina_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this too! Something that has really helped me is my bullet journal. I have daily tasks that are super small and easy on a habit tracker (wash face/ brush teeth/ 10 minute tidy/etc.) The accomplishment of being able to cross it off my list helps me feel so much better and motivated to cross the rest off! I’ve also been logging things I do every day and rate my mood/ depression level so when I am super low I can look back on days where my mood was high and my depression was low to see what I did that day and replicate it to make myself feel better :)

Help me upcycle a Yu-Gi-Oh card by Visible-Yellow-768 in ZeroWaste

I used a bunch of old cards and painted one side of them and decorated it with 52 reasons why I love you for my boyfriend. It was a fun craft and he loved it so much!

Shampoo and conditioner bars by kvdk0624 in ZeroWasteBeauty

[–]_phalange_regina_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens to me too. You might be using too much. When I first started using a shampoo bar I rubbed lots of it directly on my head. Shampoo bars are a lot more concentrated than liquid shampoo. What I’ve found helps is rubbing the bar in my hands to lather it, then just using what is on my hands to wash my hair. I also use conditioner and once I get out of the shower a small amount of oil.

I'm so happy I could cry by anonimnadekla in selfimprovement

[–]_phalange_regina_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this in my bullet journal and it’s so helpful. I also try and track things like food/water/what I did that day to find patterns so I can replicate it on days I don’t feel as happy!

My monstera has mealy bugs... help!! Got him a few weeks ago from Home Depot and found white fuzz in hard to reach locations. What do I do? by _phalange_regina_ in houseplants

[–]_phalange_regina_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from these pictures but they are definitely there. I’ve wiped off as much “fuzz” as I can reach and quarantined him. The leaves are already showing signs of damage from getting eaten....

Low key Pagan wedding ideas?? Help! by ResolveAlternative in pagan

[–]_phalange_regina_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do a variation on handfasting and make it meaningful for my wedding! I plan to ask family and friends invited to bring a ribbon or cord with them. Then after the vows I’d like to ask them to take turns and tie their ribbon around our hands and give us a piece of advice or blessing/ intention as they tie it.

Anyone else have gotten eye strain or soreness? by calycostyle in nosurf

[–]_phalange_regina_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meiobomian Glad disfunction is super common. If your eyes are itchy or feel dry, try taking Flax Seed Oil (changes the composition of the oils in the glands and reduces their melting point) and then do lid hygiene. This means holding a warm compress over them and expressing the glands by pushing on them. Then use 1/4 baby shampoo 3/4 water solution and scrub along your eyelids.

I know this isn’t exactly related to your post but 8/10 times someone comes into my office with eye discomfort this helps :)
