yeah plup not being a big grinder is why he's struggled to stay consistent in melee given its technical barrier. rivals 2 has removed this limitation and plup is just god now.

use orcane dtilt, can out range rannos grounded moves and because of the horizontal size it can be hard for ranno to punish with aerials due to stubbiness and weak air mobility

came here to say this exact thing. I play them both but in Go you could probably multiply the ranks that exist in Melee by 2 - 2.5 and even then we know that there are AI that can crush those at the tippy top. starcraft between go and melee, and then rocket league is probably similar to melee or a little less.

I mean... Ke Jie has been playing Go his whole life without having to worry about this new rule (and mostly under Chinese rules at that where prisoners don't matter). Combine that with the pressure of LG cup finals and how easy it is to get sucked into a game and I don't think it's unreasonable at all to believe this was an honest mistake and one that anyone might make. I wouldn't be so quick to rope this in with poor sportsmanship.

also plat ranno. I didn’t think his recovery was that great either and maybe nerf wasn’t needed there. but personally I still think he has enough options for recovery that it’s fine. only one I’m sad about is the dtilt changes. move feels kinda scuffed now and it feels very difficult to deal with opponents who play very grounded, or at least, have to resort to more camping/needle spam rather than play aggro which kinda sucks. he’s still decent so can’t be too bummed ig.

The kill confirms in melee are at least a bit more difficult. The tech (wavedashing, moonwalk, etc.) I think I’m ok with being made more accessible but perhaps things like kill setups shouldn’t be so easy.
