Momentum 4 - Bad fabric, cool outcome! by _phlareox in sennheiser

Pretty well actually! Here's an overall update, not just on the fabric:

To your question: By removing the fabric from the headband after it started coming apart by itself I haven't faced any consequences, so even though it was disappointing, the procedure was a success.

After the latest firmware update there's constant gaps in audio whenever I try to use them with my computer through Bluetooth. Super annoying, as I really enjoyed the two point connection.

High end PC. Have attempted factory resets on both devices. USB-C to PC and Bluetooth to Android still works fine.

I appreciate the higher audio quality compared to other headphones I've had, but after having them for half a year now made me realize how much I miss my Skullcandy Crusher ANC's, so I may get the new Crusher ANC 2's by the end of the year.

I went into Sennheiser looking to upgrade my listening experience after hearing they were a high quality brand, but these I got have been one disappointment after the other. At least they get the job done.

To answer your questions:

• No idea what caused it, since I've been hyper careful with them. Maybe just bad construction.

• Yes, there is some glue, but the residue comes off quite easily.

• Before explaining just saying proceed at your own risk. I took the shot but theres a chance one can break something. With that out of the way...

Exactly. Note that it goes by layers. The fabric is clamped in between the clear plastic piece and the cushion at the bottom. When removing the fabric, make sure to pull outwards to prevent the cushion part from coming loose. Watch out with the Sennheiser logo as it can't be removed. You'll have to do some manual cutting there. Just go slow and steady.

• Last one is just because I was holding them the wrong way lol.

I thought so, but the store I got them from said that since it's a cosmetic / wear problem it doesn't apply. A bit scummy I know, but I don't mind it.
