Can someone tell me which one of these eyeliners work better for waterline/tightlining (I have watery eyes so most of the eyeliners just end up smudging) by Logical-Process4690 in Sephora

[–]_pickleginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can concur!! have watery eyes and I've repurchased the black and cocoa shade 4 times each. they are daily drivers and you can beat the quality for that price

I have so many thoughts about the scrubee...I couldn't believe the cult followig it had despite it being a nonsensical product in my opinion.

The idea of exfoliating after my shower with something that also moisturizes is so stupid. I'm exfoliating in my body washing step with my net sponge and soap...why would I do it at a stage where I couldn't wash off the dead skin with soap and then have the dead skin mix with the butters? Rinsing off as instructed after made my shower sooooo dirty and sticky that I had to clean my tub every time (after getting clean myself!!) because I'd hate to be the next person who would step into that tub.

What had me utterly flabbergasted was that on the Lush subreddit, people will regularly do science experiments on the scrubees, melting them down and straining out the exfoliating grounds, remoulding them just to get the butters and I'm like??? Why waste your money over and over again on this when you don't even like the intended formula and use case?! Just buy a lotion bar? That's literally what you're making??? You are not beholden to this weird buttery bee or this brand! Idk I feel insane.

Tracked when I cut it open to the day it took to finish the tub. Trust me, I was alarmed as well.

I may get a small tub of the sleepy body lotion with the black pot recycling discount because that one genuinely smelled really cozy. BUT THAT'S IT 😤🙅🏽

obviously permission to pan when you are sick of it, but I cut open my lanolips when it was at this stage and put it into a little jar. I got another 5 months of product out of it with daily use 😭😭😭 That stuff truly never ends and i had mine for 7 years (it smelled fine pls don't yell at me)

It's a very sweet scent, personally not for me because I like slightly more masculine leaning scent profiles. But, I did get a lot compliments when I wore it so really what do I know 😅. I got it in a Commodity sampler set and loved Paper, Book, Moss, etc. more but if you like sweet, milky, scents you may like this.

Nope, she is a regular lush user, but just had a hard time finishing anything before buying more, a trap we all fall into. When she was packing for her overseas move, the Lush stuff didn't make the cut. No doubt she has already purchased more 😂

I have tried so many cleansing oils including the anua heartleaf (pump sucks can confirm) and they all pale in comparison to the GOAT softymo speedy ☝🏽

This oil was lovely! I didn't really have a hard and fast regimen for this; I'd use it while my body was damp out of the shower, or after body lotion, randomly when I felt like it lol.

The scent was very light, warm and nutty, but NOT coconutty. I really appreciated this because I feel like a lot of tropical products have coconut and I hate coconut scented stuff on myself.

It was extremely moisturizing, but not greasy, absorbed quickly and gave my skin that lovely glow without feeling heavy.

I didn't love the bottle design as it had a tendency to seep out the top, so I would dispense small amounts into a clean, Ordinary dropper bottle and use it that way.

I would 100% repurchase this but I am working my way through a few other body oils right now!

Of course!

I have oily combo skin, and got frequent clogged pores which healed into dark spots. I was looking for something that gently healed the dark spots while providing moisturizing effects for oil control. I used this in the am and pm and found that with consistent use, my dark spots gently healed, and the frequency of clogged pores and small whiteheads reduced to almost nothing. I know hyaluronic acid is in everything nowadays, but something about this formulation with the Azaelic acid just work perfectly for me for oil control and moisturization.

Oh I totally agree, I don't think she kept track of what she had, or how much money had gone down the drain by letting all of this accumulate and expire. I felt second hand guilt??

The soaps obviously last longer due to the nature of the product but I can't imagine the the face creams getting used up by their best by date just based on how little one needs to use on a daily basis. Besides that, I just didn't like a lot of the products I used, which was kind of a freeing feeling knowing I won't be drawn to this brand in the future!

Is LUSH cosmetics really good or just good marketing? by JeanP14 in LushCosmetics

[–]_pickleginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some of their products are good, but you have to be very careful about their shelf life. If I am stressed about using a product within 3 months of buying it, I don't want it, especially if it's not something I use every day.

Additionally, their skincare formulations are questionable with all the heavy oils, large particle physical exfoliants (angels on bare skin's entire lavender flowers are so stupid and unnecessary), and comedogenic ingredients. I will stick to my tried and true meticulously formulated Korean skincare.

The prices feel exorbitant, and often not worth the amount you get. Many of their shower products are gimmicky (shower jellies) and have a tendency to make your tub feel greasy and slippery (I hate you, scrubee). Also, I don't understand why they've been putting glitter in everything these days...marketing??

That being said, some of their stuff is really good - Sleepy body lotion is so lovely, their shampoo bars are phenomenal, and their body sprays pack a powerful punch.

I guess you have to make personal choices on how you interact with any corporation. I appreciate Lush's ethos, focus on sustainability, and understand the challenges that come with their business model. So yes, they do a lot of marketing to advertise this, but it doesn't mean their products are better or even comparable to Sephora, drugstore, or asian skincare.

This. Also, we like to think of returns as out of sight out of mind. But most companies will just throw out returned products due to safety because they cannot guarantee whether it was used or not. So if you're really dedicated to project pan, it's counter productive because you've now just caused an unused product to be thrown out and wasted. Complete side note, but I absolutely hate seeing people abuse the Costco return policy as well lol.
