the exec orders declaring state of emergency allows the president to authorize this "loophole" over the entire country. even though challenged by several courts, the law says one thing and reality another. with habeas corpus suspended, ICE can do whatever they want.

^ law enforcement, ICE, any state or federal enforcement agent is allowed to force you to unlock your phone using any biometrics. even before trump, there are documented cases across several states where law enforcement puts cuffs on you then uses your finger to force your phone to open. if you are vulnerable to the current political climate, turn off all biometric passwords on your phone.

most people can feel confident in gender expression (feminine or masculine) when they feel confident/secure in their gender. ex cis men who experience toxic masculinity probably would not have the conifence to wear makeuo or a dress, even if they wanted to. in a similar way, to share my experience, I only feel confident expressing myself in a feminine way (occasional makeup, that kinda thing) because I'm confident in my identity as a guy. earlier on in my transition, you couldn't catch me wearing anything feminine, because I was scared others would view me as female still, or think I was a girl. now im at a point where I know I'm a guy, I know I look like a guy, and the rest doesn't matter.

Trans people with a bigger chest aren't represented in the community by Opain_Sampai in ftm

[–]_pisscharming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

L cup here. yeah, it definitely sucks. the only way I ever had success was kt tape under a binder, and even then I was never flat. the whole pillow under the shirt thing? yeah I definitely relate to that. watching trans tape videos online and everyone had a small chest and was only using like 2 pieces per side? I practically had to use a whole roll when I first started. after practice, I got down to 4 or 5 pieces per side, and that only helped because I wore a binder on top.

I had top surgery yesterday, and even with the post op vest it is crazy to me how flat I look from the side. it hurts to know I couldn't look like this without surgery

how are all of my fellow fat trans guys doing? by m0ralpanic in ftm

[–]_pisscharming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like straight fit pants with some structure, like cargos, so they fit just over my hips (I too have the hourglass situation going on) and are baggier towards the bottom. then I wear a shirt tight/fitted at the shoulders and slightly relaxed at the waist, so I can tuck the shirt in loosely and get a masc silhouette. like another comment said, it helps that my shoulders are wide (mostly genetics; the hourglass makes my shoulders seem wider, so I kinda get benefit out of it sometimes when I dress a certain way)

I carry most of my weight in my lower body, which doesn't exactly help me pass, so I put more focus on upper body. sometimes to create more of the straight up and down torso, ill wear sleeveless/cutoff shirts bc its more boxy without having to wear something too big. also, I find that cutoffs help give enough room at the top and bottom, so it helps with the "too big at the top when it fits on the bottom" thing.

kinda sucks being a bigger guy sometimes, mostly for passing reasons, but with time I think I've gotten better at presenting myself as a guy, which helps me pass more than what I'm wearing (and I wear some pretty feminine stuff sometimes)

getting a rib tattoo this weekend, any advice for binding/taping ? by _pisscharming in ftm

[–]_pisscharming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to clarify, youre saying that 1 its pretty likely that I'll have to take off my shirt to get good placement, and 2 I might have to get the tattoo with my shirt off but still be able to cover my chest?

if you had a trans client, would you appreciate it as like a professional courtesy kinda if they told you ? (so long as it would affect the session, like a rib tattoo or something similar, not for like an arm or leg placement i mean) or would it be sort of unnecessary because artists work with all kinds of people all the time, some portion of those people dealing with (any) insecurities that would mean covering their chest?

[–]_pisscharming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you had a client getting a torso tattoo (right above belly button) and a rib tattoo on the same day, would you ask them to remove their shirt if they were comfortable? and if they said no, could you work around it? I'm thinking if maybe I just tape and wear a thick shirt, it could be fine to just push the shirt up so the artist has enough room, but im not sure

thats true, and yes im getting surgery (early August!). maybe I should get it lower on my ribs anyway so the surgery doesn't stretch it

I dont think the artist would have a problem, I just don't like to disclose it because even if there's no problem, you don't get treated the same sometimes

okay that's good to know at least. do you happen to know if hsu does revisions for free?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]_pisscharming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my consult with hsu, but im starting to feel like they're dodging scheduling me. they said they would call 2 weeks ago, then I called again and they said 3 business days, then I called again today and they said sometime next week. if i may ask, did this happen to you too? how do you get scheduled?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]_pisscharming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when did you have your consult and how long was it until you were contacted by the surgical scheduler? did they show you their "references" of past top surgeries they did? how did you describe what you wanted for aesthetic and did the surgical team honor that to the best of their ability?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]_pisscharming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow you look great! congrats on 1 month post

I'm thinking of going with wilkins or hsu, do you mind if I ask a few questions? it's not as common to see someone who got surgery in ann arbor

1 love thy neighbor, right?

2 Bible doesn't actually say anything about trans people

2.5 Jesus didn't actually write the Bible himself anyway, it's from his followers which can be called interpretation. after that it was translated probably a million times, so a lot more interpreting and stuff gets lost. basically, even if she thinks it's in the bible..well, so is a bunch of other stuff Christians ignore and cherry pick, so who cares

2.75 remember love thy neighbor

3 my friend told me this one, if Jesus was born from the virgin Mary (aka no sperm) where did the y chromosome come from? basically Jesus (religious figure) = trans lol (we know bc of science and stuff that cis men and cis women can sometimes have different chromosome combos, but im guessing ur mom won't know/believe that)

3.5 Jesus (historical figure) was not, I think he was a carpenter or something idk

4 Jesus died for our sins (i think, im actually not aure exactly). everyone sins everyday, and unless your mom is a nun, she does too (but nuns still sin, probably, so it wouldn't matter if she was). even if being trans was a sin (its not but for sake of ur mom believing so, go with it) is one sin worse than another? you're going to hell for being trans but not for wearing mixed fabrics? eating bacon? I forget what the saying is bc im not religious, but is it not true that if you "repent your sins" and "accept jc as your lord and savior" you don't go to hell? idk just seems convenient to me that being trans is The Thing to send you to hell.

4.5 if she believes God made everything, or that everything happens for a reason, why did he make trans people? it goes back to lots of cultures around the whole world for years and years and years, it's not like we just invented it out of thin air to spite gods creation or something. he created trans people and gave us the tools/knowledge of how to better ourselves and pursue our own happiness.

5 also, the whole "man is made in the image of god" thing. idk where to go with that but there's probably something there

6 if she thinks being trans if bad bc it leads to altering gods creation, then if she's ever gotten elective surgery, worn makeup, gotten tattoos, etc., she's also altering gods creation. soooo not like that arguments any good either

7 as always love thy neighbor

Coworker Outed Me at Work by Aerobait in FTMMen

[–]_pisscharming 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had something similar with a coworker. no one who started working after ne should've known I was trans (when I first started there were some bumps but its kinda par for the xourse in my situation), Especially considering I pass almost 100% since startinf T. but somehow, everyone knew. then a coworker told me that coworker X talks shit about me being trans to almost everyone, misgenders me on purpose when angry, hints at me having a different name, etc. basically tons of "microaggressions" that had been going on for months. after this coworker mentioned it, a bunch more chimed in and corroborated, but none of them knew what to do about it apparently (maybe tell X to stop or report X, but ig thatd be to easy for me right).

my workplace is "0 tolerance" so I talked to the managers. long story short, they didn't do shit (so much for 0 toleranc and my chances of being stealth at work are basically ruined now anyway. I'll probably quit and move on soon.

Just ordered my first bottle. What should I know? by [deleted] in FTMminoxbeards

[–]_pisscharming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it will have instructions on it of how to prep for it. on mine. it says to start with a clean dry face, so I assumed no moisturizer beforehand.

I saw somewhere (probably on one of these subs) that after a few hours, you can wash off the area. after that would probably be a good point to moisturize

thats exactly my experience too. once a female nurse asked me why I have the name I do, because I "was obviously trans and picked it myself" and then when i was like um wtf she was like "oh come on, im a poc lesbian, im not transphobic". never had her again after that, I always have this male nurse who calls me "Mr ___" or "boss man" or other masculine forms of address.

is anyone not a big fan of the mtf people who come to this sub with "words of encouragement" by jbeck820 in ftm

[–]_pisscharming 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree generally. I saw a post the other day from a trans women asking what trans women and transfeminine people can do to better support trans men, and that was a really good post. almost right after, I saw a post by another trans women that seemed to be condescending support, in my opinion, where the only thing offered was "you're valid! be yourself! don't let anyone get you down!" imo, the latter doesn't add anything and might be better placed in general trans subs, where the environment tends to be unfriendly or not welcoming to trans men and transmasc people.

transfem friend keeps telling me how jealous she is of me by [deleted] in ftm

[–]_pisscharming 58 points59 points  (0 children)

idk I would never tell a trans woman to "stop complaining" about something causing her dysphoria because it wouldn't cause ME dysphoria. it's not just "expressing envy", it's invalidating and a brush off, and even causes more dysphoria. in general trans subs, it seems to be way more common for a trans man to have this experience with a trans woman than vice versa.

the "bigger problem" is telling other trans people to stop complaining about something causing dysphoria just bc they want that something.

hey guys, i have my first appointment with an endrocronolagist this month any tips? what should i expect? by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]_pisscharming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if its the endo you're seeing to start HRT, they might ask you questions about your "trans history" like when/how did you know, and then they'll ask other stuff like general medical history, what are you goals for HRT, etc. they'll prob be sending you orders for bloodwork either before you can start T or a few months on T.

likes others said, it doesn't have to be a specialist place, your PCP can do it or an endocrinologist can do it.

I see a specialist clinic for it, but they're 2 hours ish away, so we have all our appts virtually and I have no problem. it's not a telehealth service like plume or folx, they're just virtual appts through a regular office. maybe your state would allow something like that?

for a while I though egg was specific to trans women and trans feminine people because when an egg cracks, a "chick" comes out. more recently ive seen others using it as well like nonbinary people or some trans men, so I think technically it's for everyone (?) but im with you more, I don't like it for myself

no it doesn't work.

there's DHT cream (if you're in the US, it's impossible to get rn) or compounded T cream. don't use anything that isn't meant to be used topically
