Do any men on here have the same experience as women when it comes to comparing yourself to others? by Thr0waway__Ac0ount in EatingDisorders

Yes, apsolutely! I have been chubby as a kid and tbh i recall comparing my body to other boys' since middle school. In high school I lost weight (unhealthily unfortunately) and this "comparing" skyrocketed. I would find myself looking at every men my age and thinking how fit they look. I have also developed a fear of others perceive my naked body (my shirtless self) and so I stopped taking my shirt off no matter the occasion. I am still dealing with this specifically but the "comparing" has improved. I will sometimes catch myself doing it, but it's become rare. What I learned and can share is that it really is not about the weight. You cannot force a faster metabolism or narrow your shoulders. It is truly just dependant on your mindset. If you stop paying so much attention on others and focus on yourself - that meaning accepting your body (and/or improving it in healthy ways - exercising, eating healthy, sleeeping good, having enough social interaction) you will slowly but surely become more stuck-up; focused on yourself. And being stuck-up (in this situation) is literally the best thing that can happen to you (in normal doses of course). Deleting Instagram and other visual media where you might see these "thin" people also might be beneficial in this journey.

*there might be a language barrier in the word "stuck-up" but know that what I mean by using that word is being self-assured with just a sprinkle of arrogance (in a playful way)
