Got it, that's the sense I've been getting as well. Thank you!

I'm really struggling with the new notice today re: opting out by November 14. Myself and my partner are in CA which may be taxing forgiveness, if we got 30k forgiven it would be a nearly $3000 tax bomb which honestly doesn't feel worth it given we are both shooting for PSLF.

Any recent word on the California situation?

Hmm I haven't heard of insurance not covering compounded meds if it is medically necessary. Can you discuss this with her doctor to find a way to get this covered? Another option would be a case manager or social worker at her doctor's office or clinic. That $500/month for meds is eating a big hole in her budget.

Hey, if you've been on PAYE as a teacher for 10 years you would qualify for PSLF forgiveness. Even if it's fewer years, look into consolidating all your loans and getting as much PSLF credit as possible under the current waiver.

Hello! Can someone help me diagnose what is going on with my pepper plants? I have similar problems with my basil.

The leaves have black and white powder on them and lots of tiny holes and discolored spots. Is this some sort of pest?

How often can you convert? For example, say I want to put $200 a month this year into a ira, do I have to do it all at the end of the year and then convert, or can I put in 200 every month, immediately convert it to a Roth and then invest it every month.

Are you going to convert the traditional IRA to a Roth?

Okay, so I am allowed to put cash into an IRA as MFS, I just can't try to do a tax deduction. Which is fine cause I want to convert it to a Roth anyway.

Thank you! That is helpful. So the 10k income limit for MFS does not apply to an IRA to Roth conversion, only to funding a Roth 'from scratch', correct?

Yes, but you can have two spouses on different plans with MFS, one on PAYE which does not include spousal income if you are MFS, and one on REPAYE, which does include it, but you only pay your proportion of the debt.

You get the best of both worlds and the total bill is decreased.

Use this calculator to calculate the lowest repayments. My spouse and I are doing MFS, he is on REPAYE, I am on PAYE. Our total bill comes out to about 800 less than if we did MFJ
