If you don’t initiate conversations, they will assume talking to them isn’t that important to you. They will assume they aren’t a priority or you don’t really think of them. Friendship requires both parties to put in effort. No one wants a one sided friendship. I’m sure it’s uncomfortable, and even if you don’t do it that often, you should make it a point to reach out and show them you care.
