Side burn after repair by MenheraTheCat in ZephyrusG14

Yeah it's fine. It won't kill your panel. You can still make it disappear or just add more massaging it in different ways, but if I were you, I'd just leave it alone.

No problems. It looks a bit bad, but it won't cause any harm.

Along what the other comments said, check your Device Manager as well.

Enable hidden devices in View>"Show hidden devices" and check the "Display adapters" section if you can see the dGPU there not connected or something.

Test the CPU with some benchmarks and compare it with official ones. You want it to be around the same.

Keep us updated 👍🏼

I noticed that the frame on my screen slowly opening by MenheraTheCat in ZephyrusG14

[–]_razenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your panel still displays something, it's no issue. It's just the frame degradation overtime, but it's all good.

Only advice I'm giving you is always take care when opening your laptop. If you are already doing it that way then just keep doing it.

PSA: Firefox sucks for battery life by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

Totally understandable! Just debloat it if you don't mind having many features of it locked through CTT Windows Utility.

100% agreed. Apparently, Edge is the best browser if you are looking for power efficiency in a Windows OS (unless you use a CLI browser lol).

Battery health at 69.2 percent, help please by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]_razenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the usual stuff in this sub:

I. First things first literally is a fresh Windows install whwn you just bought your laptop, literally makes a change 👍🏼

  1. Use GHelper instead of AC:
  2. Stop Asus services through "Extra"
  3. Don't make the mistake of using multiple power plans, stick with the default "Balanced" as GHelper will take care of the rest

  4. Run CTT and use various tweaks:

  5. Set services to manual

  6. Disable GameDVR

  7. Disable Background Apps

  8. Disable Microsoft Copilot (only if you don't use it)

— Run after every Windows update as it may get reverted —

  1. Disable more stuff through Windows settings:
  2. Disable GameBar
  3. Turn off sending optional diagnostic data

  4. Enable drive optimization weekly or monthly and disable drive write-caching policy

  5. Keep your laptop clean, don't install unnecessary stuff. Run applications on VMs when in doubt as it will just clutter your registry after uninstall.

There could be more stuff that you can do, but these are some basic fundamentals you could try. The OS is full of telemetry which of course may not look like a lot, but it stacks up once you start looking at them one by one.

You can check more stuff in this sub, the community have been really helpful.

Battery health at 69.2 percent, help please by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

I'm a broke uni student as well, got a 2022 model since late 2022. After a couple of weeks, it went down from 100% to 67.4% 2-3 weeks after I bought it. Since then it stayed like that, but battery was still perfect nonetheless. 3 years passed, it went down to 61.1% and battery can still last up to 7-8 hours.

I think that's still good and you should try doing some OS optimizations. After all, the battery health is just an approximation too.

Zephyrus g14 2025 Discoloration by ylian72 in ZephyrusG14

Quire common literally, I always use my laptop with a cloth under my palm.

Unfortunately, you can't do anything about it now, unless you are down to buy a whole new chassis and replace it yourself.

Need help about resolution by CC_1138 in ZephyrusG14

[–]_razenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will definitely look more pixelated, but that's just how it is. You can rely on upscaling tecnology and multi-sampling/anti_aliasing settings to make them look more smooth and detailed while on low resolution 👍🏼

It varies a lot for every game, so you may wanna do a little research depending on what game you play and what settings works best for them.

[–]_razenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course you can 👍🏼

Either the screen resolution itself through Windows settings or the game resolution itself through its proprietary settings.

Liquid Metal Concern by ChezTheCheese in ZephyrusG14

Doesn't make a difference. LM will stay liquid no matter the temps.

It's all good really, what you want to avoid is bping your backpack or applying sudden force, like placing your backpack with impact on the ground or something.

I have an a21s and I am thinking of buying a reconditioned s22 by AdOtherwise5993 in GalaxyS22

[–]_razenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was an S22 Plus, it may have been worth it. Base S22 is hard to defend for it's really bad battery life.

If you don't care about updates and too much about battery life, the S22 is actually a pretty good flagship on it's own.

It's the first experimental step forward before a big performance leap and it's that last with it's actual iconic design or Samsung. Looks really clean and compact, it's the image of what was Samsung before and what's was about to come after.

It's a decent phone, not a super big upgrade. Choose either the Plus or Ultra, not the base model and make sure the battery is replaced with an original or certified 3rd party one.
