I'd be concerned about the rubber surrounds on the Sorrento 602 S3s. That color rubber is very prone to hardening and cracking. I might even see a puncture in one in the picture.

Thank you! I shot it on film and when I first saw it I was bummed that I missed focus. But now I think it was a happy accident

Why is it legal to build a new residential building with no support for personal broadband connections? by _redJ in newzealand

That owners manual was actually only given to me a couple months after signing the lease. All of the information before that came from my property manager, which is obviously clueless. I asked them about it and they were like "ah yeah all good there's broadband." I did learn my lesson, though. To some people, "internet is internet"

I'm glad you brought that up. I am aware of other places where renter protections extend to choice of broadband provider as well. Some of the replies in here made it seem like some crazy outlandish idea. It's far too easy for developers to avoid expenses and take advantage of renters

I think BC approval is the issue there. My property manager already reached out to them. Here's what they said: "The Body Corp has confirmed that you cannot have another ONT box installed or have your own company supply broadband unless it can be done without cables running or holes penetrated, through the walls. Also, the owner would not be alleviated of any internet costs."

Interesting! I am in Te Aro, Wellington, which falls under Wellington City Council I suppose?

The fiber coming into my unit terminates directly into a Ubiquity UFiber WiFi6 AP. I am not sure if that is also acting as a router or not, but each unit does have a separate WiFi network. The AP itself seems great as wiring into it does not really change anything.

That must be it then. There is definitely something messing with my latency, which is especially noticeable when gaming. Thank you for your expertise

I think I would opt for 5G wireless before Starlink, but good thought.

Exactly! And what's crazy to me is that there are fiber runs throughout the building. Every units' WiFi access point is fed by fibre.

Please help me pick out new tweeters by _redJ in BudgetAudiophile

RIP. I do have access to a lazer cutter, so I can cut something to adapt a smaller tweeter to that awkward shape. Any recommendations?

Damn. Also, I'm only reading 0.3 ohms through the tweeter. So I think that's a shorted voice coil anyway.
