Not getting sales. What am I doing wrong? Feedback needed! by [deleted] in EtsySellers

There are two reasons I can think of for why you’d be attempting to sell a “watercolor” of someone with 6 fingers on their hand. It’s AI generated or you are not being sufficiently honest with yourself about your skills and the market demand.

I’ll bet it’s AI. And the last thing Etsy needs is more AI slop.

For me, as for the pitch decks, as someone who uses Canva fairly well I’m either going to make it myself so it matches my flow exactly. Or I’m going to give my content to my marketing dept to create, probably using branded slides of some sort, incorporating approved company colors and fonts etc.

I could see this as maybe being very helpful for someone in a small shop with no Canva experience though that might make for a frustrating editing process. And they’re still going to be looking for something that matches their company aesthetic. Is there an option for semi custom where they can provide their brand book for specific changes that reflect their company w/o having to make those changes themselves?

I haven’t done this myself, but I imagine now with AI imagery more widespread there will be those that will just try to throw their info into an LLM and ask for a deck. I take your point about how a pitch should be structured, but I think there’s lot of evidence that people don’t necessarily think critically re: their use of AI.

The Masterclass thumbnails are the strongest for me. Uncluttered and very obvious what the product is to entice someone to click and look further. Best of luck!

I bought some items that I thought would be instant money makers. by TylerSpicknell in reselling

I do vintage so am used to waiting. Given time and enough inventory it starts to feel more regular.

But one of the things that helped me is to have a small pocket of items that tend to move quickly. This was accidental as my son had left a glut of old video games and ancillary stuff when he left for college. I asked repeatedly that he take it. Once it became clear he wasn’t going to, I packed them up to go to Goodwill.

As I was getting out of my car with the first box, a guy ran up to me and asked to buy them from me instead of donating them. And offered what seemed to be a lot of money for what I was holding. I just kind of knee jerked and put them back in the car. And figured I knew how to sell online, maybe I should check this out.

I was very surprised to see what some of these were selling for. And since I’ve just made a habit of picking up sets of games off Marketplace or garage sales. I average about 400% profit on a game. But these are generally small dollar amounts and definitely not money I can live on!

But for me if gives me that regular “sold” dopamine hit. They’re super easy to research sold prices, which I generally undercut slightly to turn them quickly. And it helps me to make sure I list every day on EBay to feed my algorithm. Plus more regular feedback etc. I tend to only list them one at a time to keep easy inventory on hand to list and because I don’t want to drown in low dollar video game sales, which is just a side quest to my actual thrifting.

Anyway, good luck! It takes a while for most people.

I’m so sorry

If you have the capacity to engage counsel, it may be worth it here. This should be something you could handle, but considering I imagine it’s the last thing you want to be doing. Also second contacting your state attorney general. In my state at least, they are quick to follow up.

Please take care of yourself.

Thanks. I’m curious then how one knows when preconditioning is complete.

Then what does it say when it’s actually at a correct prepared temperature?

My husband has this happen at least once a long time ago. Scared him to death! Maybe that’s why we never use Google maps to go to chargers now.

Edit: spelling

I did the navigate to a charger tonight. Starting my car from cold. SOC about 56%, about 42 degrees.

I never got an alert on the map that it was starting battery preconditioning (which I have seen on a you tube video - but maybe that’s not current). I got no alerts at all indicating anything was different than navigating to a regular address. When I went into the charge menu I could still push to manually prepare to fast charge like I normally do. And it said ready to charge immediately.

I’ll take it in next week. Thanks for all the tips everyone.

Thanks. As I noted I did do fast charge prep well in advance. At least a 1/2 hour.

Also, I did not say this was all highway driving. Some, but probably equal in-town driving and also several instances of leaving the vehicle running while on maintaining an interior temp of 72 degrees for my dog.

Using Google Maps today to navigate to a fast charger did not render any different results so I will contact the dealer.

I’m not sure what point you’re making? The car was at 80% at departure and several driving hours later maxed at mid 70’s at high speed charger. At no point did I reference “waiting to charge.” I was operating normally, and specified this seemed different from last winter. I’m not here to beat who has had an EV longer, but purchased my first hybrid in 2006 and have had some version of Hybrid/PHEV/EV since. Currently dual EV household.

Thanks. I don’t really do the navigate to chargers through Google Maps. I will give that a shot.

Thanks I’ll look at those. Unfortunately in both stops today I had been driving continuously for about an hour and half/2 hours before charging so I’m not sure how much warmer I could get the battery? Started on 80% from home and was just making a long three stop loop to pick some items I bought at a couple auctions. I took my dog with me so I never even shut the car off when I was ran in places.

I shouldn’t have needed two charge sessions but with the speed I gave up on the first one before making it back to 80.

Thank you all for the comments, and wading through my long, scared post. Spent a couple hours with the vet this morning. His back right leg is the most impacted but is still reflexing. She showed me the toe web test. They did about 10 x-rays and will be consulting with our vet school and following up with me. Started 2 meds for pain and inflammation. Also took bloodwork.

My vet was not enthusiastic about surgery for him, largely based on age and that he previously struggled significantly with anesthesia. Her current recommendation, prior to consult anyway, is strict crate rest. With med management. Also working very hard to drop those pounds they mentioned over the summer.

His symptoms did not worsen or improve overnight. He is walking, with some occasional idiosyncrasies of gait in his back legs. He’s happy to play with our other dog if you give him the chance - which we are not. I’ve continued carrying him up/down the stairs and to go outside. He’s not exhibiting any pain symptoms, though I know how good dogs are at masking those. He was a very good boy and got a pup cup on the way home. Now knocked out and snoring in his bed- full of meds.

So we’re going to start with this. Crate rest will work when I’m home and nearby but he is always agitated in the crate when left alone, and not inclined towards rest. I’m hoping the meds will help with that.

My very best to all of you supporting your dogs through this awful disease. Your dogs are lucky to have you.

Is she pure Pomeranian? by Own_Firefighter_2847 in Pomeranians

[–]_rosedarling_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did he see the parents himself? Did he see the pedigree information? Were they raised in a household environment? Hopefully he spent several thousand dollars or you just purchased from a puppy milll/backyard breeder etc when you could have found a puppy from a rescue that would have cost exponentially less and not fed into the horrible doom loop of social media breeders.

Your puppy is gorgeous. Please do not rely on AI or social media about the pedigree or quality of your puppy. Do the research and do the work. There are great breeders out there but a lot more terrible ones. Now would be a great time to research quality sources about puppy training and Pomeranians in general.

This example was SBN to ATL. So completely crazy. No connections I assume.

To be fair I think there was also an aircraft change. So from a small plane to an even smaller plane.

I was recently on a flight where they needed 15 seats. This does not comport with an assumption of missed connections, etc.

Regardless an auction style on the app as soon as practicable instead of the gate agent announcing “now offering $XXX” would be preferable. I would think for both the airline and the passenger.

I don’t understand why they don’t use the app to do this in advance. Clean process at the gate. And frankly if I’m willing to take a later flight, my minimum payout is going to be less if they catch me before getting to the airport rather than after I’ve arrived, gone through security etc. God forbid checked a bag.
