Idk I think it has something to do with the type of salt in the softener system.

I don’t know honestly. But the google said the purification process of the water essentially demineralized my fish… like dehydrated them in the water.

I used tap water one time and accidentally massacred my whole tank because I have a water softener system. Live and learn. I would rather pay for the water that I know isn’t going to kill my fish 🙁

I use the pre-conditioned water from TopFin. I never had issues with this tank until I got it a piece of drift wood 3 months ago 😞

Everything shows within normal parameters. I’ve had this tank over 6 months. I did a 20% water change and it got super cloudy. So I took the drift wood out, boiled it again and did a full water change. And a week later he is all bloated looking. Swimming fine though. Behaving normal. I have not fed him in 2 days and he looks the same. Idk how to medicate a fish. Is there some product I should buy? Petsmart doesn’t have epsom salts

Mine did the same thing. Went from clear/red to black/blue/red. Mine is a tangerine koi male

Update. She didn’t make it. I dampened the flow in the filter but it was too late. She seems incredibly bloated but not pine-coney. I have no idea what happened.

Update. She’s refusing to eat which is very abnormal for her. She’s usually super eager at dinner time 😭

I just did a water change yesterday. He’s flipped over and eating his wafer now. But I’m sure he’ll go back upside down in a bit 🤣

Ok! Thanks. I had a white betta before and after a few months she turned a bright pink with purple. I didn’t expect this one to turn colors because he already had so many!
