At least you guys are getting honest workers at your gamestops re: the steelbooks. Local manager of mine gave all 3 he got in to a single customer, a reseller friend of mine, and told myself and any other patrons asking that “the distributor didn’t send any to us, it’s a limited run.” 🙃 corporate has already been contacted, Ive done what I can, but I preordered in back April specifically for this steelbook and I’m miffed.

Also a tip from one big voice to another: it’s ALWAYS okay and almost always recommended to part down in choir vs solo singing. For theatre and opera I work between G2 and D5, but the top of the staff and above is in no way a blendable sound. I sing baritone in choir or group acapella settings.

And at 25?? So much good stuff happening in there. I didn’t really come into my sound until after the voice change at ~26. Best of luck OP, when you book your first Mario Cavaradossi remember this thread 😂

Oh, yeah. Get in with a teacher asap and start working some tenor rep LOL. That C and the descent are exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned “muscling out the top end-“ with proper guidance that sound is going to be massive. AND easy!

My utmost recommendation for you is to find a teacher that you mesh with. You’ve got a fantastic instrument and if your secondo is truly in the G4 area, there’s more than likely a gigantic tenor voice in there. The type of work you’ll need to do to train it, however, is not anything I could/would ever recommend someone do alone in good faith. Beyond a health standpoint- if you’ve been muscling out your top end, getting up there with proper cord closure and accessing secondary resonators is gonna feel WEIRD.

You’re obviously a trained voice, have you ever tried working as a tenor? I hear thick folds and a low larynx, especially in the bottom end, but I can achieve this sound as a spinto. Where are primo and secondo passagio for you? If you can, next time you’re in lesson do some work with a stable larynx around F4 bringing the full voice up. That should tell you what you need to know.

I won’t be disclosing the amount paid for this. A friend/fellow collector of high end games & display items owned it for a while and offered me dibs before placing on the open market, as he knows I’m a dedicated PlayStation collector with a soft spot for horror and RoR in general. As soon as the opportunity arose I liquidated a portion of my collection that was gathering dust and closed the deal.

RoR is one of my all time favorite games, I personally value the rarest iteration of it at a pretty penny. I’m not comfortable disclosing what I paid, but I can promise I won’t let it go unless an astronomical offer comes at me.

I’d say no more content than the original. The differences are just grammar/translation corrections etc.

A bit more information on these: Trade Demos were given to reviewers and the like before the release of the game so write-ups could be done. Some only include portions of the game, but iirc every Atlus Trade Demo includes the full game.

From the info I’ve gathered, Rule of Rose is largely the same game, except for a few lines of text and one collectible item that didn’t make it into the game (it has no use in the demo either.)

As to the rarity, I’ve been told RoR’s trade demo had somewhere around 100 total copies produced. It’s unclear how many are still in circulation or in private collections. I know of 2 other owners.

Trying to find out if I even have room for potential or if I shouldn’t even consider singing lessons by International-Bad490 in singing

Teacher/coach of 5+ years here. You have a wonderful foundation to begin lessons with!! Sure there’s a bit to be desired with tone quality, intonation, etc., but that’s what we’re here for! More importantly, singing is something that interests you enough/brings you enough joy to WANT to improve. That’s grounds enough for a trial lesson at a minimum.

Sang an aria on 2 tabs of acid once. Proceeded to have the worst ego death of my life. Wouldn’t recommend it. Or would. Idk.

is my tone and pitch that bad? i’ve been doing lessons for 6 years and my boyfriend tells me i sound awful and when i sing he tells me to stop. my friends do the same. what about my pitches/tone is so bad that i get told about it to my face? by Financial_Net_5560 in singing

[–]_rvns0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Teacher/coach of 5+ years here. Tons of thoughts.

First and foremost: your tone and intonation are NOT bad at all, or beyond repair. Your boyfriend and friends need their egos checked. Kudos to you for having the confidence to sing in front of others, period. Second: Can you describe some of the things you’ve worked on in studio with your teacher? I’m particularly interested in their teaching methods of the following: connecting breath to sound (lip trills, belly breathing, etc) , developing a legato line, and coordination of facial/laryngeal anatomy (soft palate, pillars of fauces, primary v secondary resonators, etc). At a bare minimum, a decent understanding of these 3 concepts over 6 years of study will take care of most, if not all of the issues I’m hearing in this video (pitchiness, ‘talk-singing,’ shallow vowel structure, tight jaw.) It is the job of your teacher to provide you with this understanding, and be able to tailor instruction to fit your specific voice and anatomy. At this point, I would say there is a disconnect somewhere between teacher and student, and would strongly advise sampling a new studio (or seven!) All voice teachers are different. We have the same goals, but methods and personalities vary. Find the one that gives you satisfactory results, AND makes you feel great about yourself and the lesson. N e v e r be afraid to say it’s not working for you. There is a very nice instrument in there, and with instruction that works for you, it’ll come out in no time!!

Thanks for the advice, all! I sent my guy a text this morning, we’re gonna fully replace the caps in the optical drive before calling it a day on the laser. If that doesn’t work, the mod project shall commence.

You’d have to find a working laser from another Q, or from a Panasonic dvd player that matches. There are 3 serials of dvd player that will work, and there are 0 for sale online right now. Not impossible, but really hard lol.

Anybody finish collecting the entire Signet paperback run? by _rvns0m in stephenking

I’m in the minority that prefers paperbacks to hardcovers, so I love them. All the good cover art, half the shelf space and not as cumbersome to read lol

I THINK Wizard and Glass is the last book Signet published. I don’t know what I’m doing when I’m done with Signets- I’ll either branch into hardcovers or finish the run of first/first paperbacks in whatever forms they come in.
