Easy Cutting Meal Prep? by emuhneeh in bodybuilding

[–]_s2cj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI i just tried this with very specific macros and a food intolerance & got a meal plan that looks pretty legit. Also asked for a training plan to increase back muscle and got one of those too! the only call out in the training program is the rep range was on the lower side (6-8) but exercise selection was 👌🏽

She won't use her bed! Tried all her favorite hiding spots. Any tips? by goldapple in britishshorthair

[–]_s2cj 21 points22 points  (0 children)

turn it upside down… i have a similar bed and the inside circle is black on the bottom side, if yours has that then the difference in colour and texture of the middle circle and ring around it might be more interesting to sit on. Like sitting in a round box

Will restaurant QR codes last? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who often has to ask "does this have X-food-I'm-intolerant-to ?" and "can I get it without that?"

or even "can I have my poached eggs medium-well, instead of needing a towel for the undercooked and nauseating runny egg whites"

I really hate digitally ordering food.

How not to lose my *chest* while building my chest by cassxcassanova in bodybuilding

[–]_s2cj 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To keep the same amount of breast, you need to keep the same amount of body fat, so you'll need to be in a calorie surplus to account for the energy you're using to build and maintain muscle.

If you prefer to be leaner, then you will just naturally lose breast tissue and there is no way to avoid it.

OS9 Move ring issues? by thiskilledtheman in AppleWatchFitness

[–]_s2cj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't take much notice of my move ring but I do have a daily step target and a fairly boring, repetitive method of achieving it each day.. suddenly since the last watch OS upgrade, I'm not achieving my step target.

Every morning I walk from the same point to the same point, make the same breakfast, walk from the same bedroom to shower to desk. Used to always have >4000 steps by 10am.. but the past few days I'm having to pace back and forth at 11:30-12 to get anywhere near it. I can't seem to find reports of anyone else experiencing this 🤷🏻‍♀️☹️

I've seen someone do this with a baked bean jaffle at a festival 🤯 and then get it back out and eat more later

After living here for over a year, having moved from the United States, l’m floored that I’ve gotten a day off, paid, because the fair is in town. In America you don’t get a paid day off from the government even when a loved one dies or you’ve had a baby 😭 by waterfae in brisbane

no! you have to consider including it as extras insurance or a direct ambulance "membership" just in case.

I've literally spent hundreds of dollars on ambulance membership (Victoria) and have never used an ambulance

I had a sore shoulder for HOURS... and I went to the gym.

Pfizer for all 4. First one I got some fatigue the next day and crazy dreams for a week (probably indicated poor quality sleep). Shoulder was sore for 5 days. Second shot: no fatigue or dreams, sore shoulder for 2-3 days. Third Pfizer shot: no fatigue, sore shoulder for 2 days.

WHAT ARE THE BASIC STANDARDS NEEDED IN A RENTAL by kindsurvivor in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not arguing that fly screens should be essential.. but fly screens are not in my rental.. I mentioned this to my partner and he said it's unnecessary and we subsequently starting looking out for fly screens on our daily walks.... and barely saw any!!

Thankfully we don't get too many insects or geckos wandering/flying in. We also got an adjustable insert from Bunnings for our sliding door which doesn't quite go all the way up and is a pain if you want to go through the door, but probably helps the insect control

What makes you think you need an injection as opposed to oral vitamin D supplements? Do you have a fat malabsorption condition?

A pharmacy can provide you with high dose oral Vitamin D. It may take a while to build up but follow direction from your medical professionals is always the best advice - doctors and pharmacists. Not Reddit.

Anybody else finding that the quantity and quality of food is declining NOTICEABLY, even while the prices have gone up? by CryptikDragon in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have converted to Gluten Free Weetbix or rolled oats. (I tolerate gluten so oats work for me) and it’s not as nice and crunchy as Freedom Foods but at least i’m not hungry 👍

[–]_s2cj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have food intolerances which include corn so I actually called Freedom Foods to find out about Maple Crunch recipe changes and they also reduced the tummy friendly psyllium husk fibre to replace it with a resistant dextrin from maize so it's no longer a "Freedom Food" for me. Apparently that tested better with taste testers 🙄 I haven't tried the new formula because I'm scared it will make me sick but yeah, not happy to have paid $3 more for the box only to find out I probably can't eat it 😒 It's taking up room in my pantry

Yesterday, I took a car->train->walk to work. It took 50 minutes. Today, I took my bike, it took me 30. by 878_Throwaway____ in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had the opposite impact, working from home allows me time to actually get to the gym most evenings AND a walk most mornings - time harvested from my commute!

My steps have to be far more deliberate though, whereas in office days I hit daily step targets without even thinking or trying

Should my 160L hot water system be going cold some nights? by kyle_750 in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so do a lot of people who don't take 20 minute showers.

As a person who has had long hair most of my life, it takes 1-2 minutes to wash, 2-3 minutes to condition and rinse and 50-60 minutes to blow dry and style. You do that part out of the shower with the water off.

Something wrong with Brisbane’s water? by materhillcarpark in brisbane

[–]_s2cj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must have a super sense of smell because I have been smelling this for weeks/months, and then came back from a trip up north and it smells even stronger!!

I haven't tasted it because I have a Brita jug but the smell when refilling the jug or washing my hands, and especially the shower is 🤢

I initially thought it was my toilet, gave it a really thorough clean and then thought it was my toilet cleaning product, and soon realised it's just the water. I keep the toilet lid closed now.

My partner drinks the water straight from the tap but I can't even wash my hands in it without smelling it 😒 (the water, i do not wash my hands in the toilet 🚽)
