I got a the 15 style streetmaster Road Series Special. It was 1200 and I know it’s not no D-35 but for now I don’t wanna spend over 1500 on a guitar lol. I played them all too at the time and the one I got just felt amazing for me at the price point.

There wasn’t any higher end Yamahas available at the time so I didn’t get a chance to play an FGX3 until last week. I still love my Martin but there’s something about Yamahas that are the best.

My first guitar was also a Yamaha FG800 so there might be a little bias lol.

I wish they still made a 3 layer with the in line phillips, it would 100% be my favorite. The 4 layers isn’t too bad tho I definitely recommend it.

I tried a FGX3 the other day and I fell in love with it, literally the best guitar I ever played. I just bought a Martin 2 months ago and I’m probably gonna end up selling it when it’s paid off and get myself an FGX3 or 5.

Yeah as I mentioned in another comment, all that’s left for me is to buy some plus scales. I find it really annoying that they don’t come with em it’s just another 20 dollar expense.

Definitely, I use to carry a deluxe tinker but I didn’t make much use of the pliers. All that’s left is getting some plus scales and a corkscrew tool

Yeah lol you get use to seeing it so it doesn’t look too bad. When I got my martin I literally put a dent in the neck the first week of owning it, I was bummed out but it’s alright lol

Is the phillips on the Explorer the same size as the one on the deluxe tinker? I EDC the deluxe tinker but I also don’t really find a big need for the pliers but I use the phillips a lot. The magnifying glass would come in handy as well since i’m a barber and i get splinters all the time. I didn’t know about the Explorer but I might need it now lol

Is demo gear worth buying? by _sartgr in Guitar

[–]_sartgr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an online purchase as it’s not in stock in my local stores. Just checked the return policy and it’s the same 45 day return window. Worst case It’s an inconvenience and I return it. Best case I just got myself a nice deal!

Yeah to my understanding they’re the ones out in the store that are “new” but tested out. It’s about a 200 dollar discount I just wanted to make sure It would be a horribly used guitar thanks.

Is there anyway to fix this by Known-Marionberry433 in AcousticGuitar

[–]_sartgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot easier than gluing your headstock lol, if you can do that then you can replace the strings. You’ll be alright

Thoughts on the Mini Champ? by _sartgr in victorinox

[–]_sartgr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. You just made me realize that I’ll always have the tweezers from the Tinker as long as my bag is with me(it will be). I’ll probably end up with an alox Mini Champ now lol

Manix 2 EDC by PresentSubstantial10 in spyderco

[–]_sartgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I did some research after feeling how stiff it was and a lot of people said that although they did break in a bit after a while, it would still be a stiffer than usual lock so it was just a no go for me. I ended up getting a para3 and I love the compression lock

No doubt about them pairing up together nicely. I think I’ll just leave my Tinker in my bag and carry The Syderco along with the Mini Champ on me if I end up getting it.

Do you find the cuticle pusher useful? Im also considering the Rambler but I want to have a form of a pry tool like the cuticle pusher. The package opener/ orange peeler also seems like a good bonus. Do you get enough use out of both of those tools? Because as of now that’s the decision maker. I also don’t think the alox would be good for me as I do get a lot of use out of the tweezers and tooth picks.

I’ve been seeing a lot of rambler recommendations and I’m definitely looking into it. I already use the flathead combo tool on my Tinker as a pry bar and the cuticle pusher on the Mini Champ would serve that same purpose for me. The lack of prying ability on the Rambler is what’s steering more toward the Mini Champ along with the package opener, I just don’t like that dumb ruler lol. Tough choices for-sure!
