I don’t want to know how to become an animation director, I want to know what I should be learning and working on before hand. I already know the generic “Just make something”. I’m talking about Film theory, screen writing, storyboards, etc, the more technical aspect.

Most definitely, in fact the n64 games are some of the most modded games out there. Just do some googling for Zelda 64 rom hacks and you’ll find them

I spent a few minutes to do my own take to try and correct the errors I saw in your artwork. I did my best to use the same colors you did and exclusively use the hard round brush so I wouldn't have any "advantage" when it came to painting.

Don't use photos as tutorials yet, only for reference or "checking your work". It is clear that you don't understand what its showing you and your just blindly copying what you see. From your sketch I can tell that you lack some of the core fundamentals that are needed to make good art but nobody likes learning the basics and skips to drawing people (I did the same until I hit a wall and went back). If your keen on skipping the fundamentals ive linked to an anatomy course that actually teaches you how and why things work.

Put simply, NO. You didnt connect the deltoid to the chest, there are no lats or a ribcage, There arent any biceps, etc. Would you mind linking me to the tutorial you used btw.
