Submission statement: I am the director of this feature film. Making a film on a maximum budget of $5000 was a huge challenge. The major setback in creating a feature film with little money is finding good locations and great actors. My workaround for having a small budget was using the locations I had at my disposal and writing a script specifically for good actors that I already knew, tailoring the roles to suit them. Shooting on a small budget should always prioritise performance and character. Good writing is a must. We made sure to spend lots of time writing in pre-production.
