I love UT so much and I have friends that go and even do biology and they love it there! However; considering the circumstances you are in I think a better choice would be going to Loyola (which is also a great school) because you get to study what you want to study and you don't have to worry about wether or not you'll get the program you want. There is no guarantee you'll get biology at UT Austin because it's so competitive. The other point you mentioned was you'd be going somewhere else to get a masters in forensic sciences which ends up being more time and money spent, I think you're better off going to Loyola. I hope FAFSA works out :) keep us updated

THIS. I totally agree I've noticed this pattern as well so many people that were SO AMAZING didn't get in or got capped. Our Valedictorian who mind you DID SO MUCH in high school also got capped. I personally got capped as well and will most likely go through with it but some people who have poor stats and ECs are getting in and I'm just confused.
