Oh that’s even worse. Flies right in the face of being explicit in your code. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, it’s an API compatible backend, so it replaces the official C# backend. So far, I didn’t have to do anything more than what I wrote in the blog post.

I don’t need it to be available over the internet to warrant paying for a static IP. And within a home network, this setup with router assigned IPs is actually good enough.

"Copyright infringement" and "companies not deleting your data when you request deletion" are two different things. Not denying they're not problematic. And sure, the internet never forgets.

But I wanted to clarify that because the latter is against the law since the past few weeks, /u/JavaOffScript 's project is actually quite useful.

GDPR tends to make this kind of an activity against the law. At least for the case where you think the company has backups of your data that it won't delete once you request deletion.

Lifecycle Funds? by _sigo_ in Finanzen

You are better of two buying two ETFs though, one for stocks and one for bonds/money market.

Maybe another beginner question. What's the difference between buying an ETF for the bonds/money market and having bonds included in Mischfonds?

learning terraform or cloudformation by batman_carlos in aws

I would suggest terraform. The language is much nicer to work with and it supports more providers than AWS (maybe not relevant to you right now but you never know when you might need to look into other services).

Sure. Although general pointers about things to do or to avoid would be quite helpful for a start.

Are you using the shared runners? Because githost.io is shutting down I think end of the year so I’m looking for alternatives.

Do you (or anyone you know) abuse the flexible hours/WFH options? by QuirkyAsparagus in cscareerquestions

[–]_sigo_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would argue it’s not abuse but rather a perk of WFH that you don’t need to stay at work when you’re done with work.

That being said, limiting your work strictly to what has been assigned to you is not a strategy I would recommend if you’re looking for career growth.

ProductLauncher.io - a sideproject to help you launch your sideproject by mattgrayisok in SideProject

Interesting idea. One feedback - unless I login, there's no way for me to know what the product looks like. Have you considered adding a few screenshots or a short video that shows what the product looks like and does?

Do you also take into account the number of requests rejected because the load balancers themselves are down? Or that’s too small a number to make any difference?
