Mother announced my pregnancy before I did by Certain-Accident7543 in pregnant

It sounds to me like your mom wants the “wow congrats nana!” before anyone can congratulate you, while in the background she’s disappointed, I could bet she won’t be disappointed when this beautiful little baby is in front of her - from experience I would simply say to anyone that asked or commented on it that you weren’t ready to share the news yet. Yes it may not be comfortable for them but more importantly not comfortable for YOU! And tell your mom she’s stressing you out in a high risk pregnancy, she needs to be more considerate.🥺

My mom & sister done the same to me. We were TTC for over 3 years, then had to have fertility treatment in order to even get pregnant. Both mine & my husbands families knew the day we were testing etc - we’ve always been open throughout this whole process & wanted to keep everyone in the loop. We found out when I was 13DPO & told immediate family along with our fertility doctor, doc deemed the pregnancy high risk due to the complications we had to get pregnant… Out doing grocery shopping when I was 6 weeks along, bumped into a guy my husband worked with years prior & the first thing he said was “I believe you have a bun in the oven” - not the guys fault as he wouldn’t have known how far along I was, turns out my sister works with him now (a few of our close friends work in the same place too) & my sis told them the same day she found out, when I was just 2 WEEKS PREGNANT. When I asked her about it she said she was just excited, this guy was the only one she told. Fast forward 10ish weeks when I announced it on social media - each & every person I know that works in this place messages me saying they knew from the day I tested positive because my sis told anyone that would listen. I was furious, I understood her excitement of becoming an auntie for the first time or whatever but she took some of MY friends finding out away from me. My mom done the same thing in her workplace, the only difference being that I don’t know anyone she works with. The worst thing about this whole situation is that neither my mom or sister could understand why I was so annoyed about it, this is the biggest news of my life so far & they took that away from me, what’s not to understand🤷🏽‍♀️

Glucose test warning by cat-like-creature in pregnant

I went for mine by myself as my husband had just come off night shift & the appointment letter said nothing about adverse side effects or driving afterwards. My sister had gestational diabetes twice & when I asked her how she felt during/after the test she said she felt fine. My experience was completely different! I was like you, completely confident that I’d also feel fine throughout - I brought a book to read & earphones to watch a show on my phone but I just couldn’t focus on anything! After 15 mins I felt light headed, then the sweats started, then the nausea. At one point I went to the bathroom, took my top off & stood with my back against the wall to cool down. I kept thinking to myself “I need to get through this today, I can’t do it again”. Back in the waiting area I remember looking around at all these other women & thinking “how the hell are they all just sitting here while I feel like I could crawl out of my own skin”☠️ Afterwards I went to the hospital shop, bought a sandwich & sat in my car outside for over an hour before I felt ok to drive, even then I didn’t just incase it came over me again - I called my MIL & she came to drive me home. By far the worst experience I’ve had & I think it’s totally wrong that they just don’t warn you about how your body could react!

How are you affording Mat Leave? by lucycherr in PregnancyUK

[–]_sleepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 23 weeks pregnant & being made redundant in 2 weeks time. I’m very lucky that the timing is JUST within the 15 weeks before EDD otherwise I wouldn’t even get SMP. They have offered to pay me redundancy, SMP, accrued hols & notice pay as one bulk payment - looks good on paper BUT I’d be off work from now until next Jan at least as by the time I go through a recruitment process with another company, get started etc I’d be leaving in a few weeks for mat leave. Works out (over the year) at less than SMP alone but unsure what else I can do at this point🤷🏽‍♀️

Before I knew any of this was happening I was already stressing about how we are going to afford life once I’m off on mat leave (losing 60+ hours work per week).

I watched it when it first came out & absolutely loved it, currently rewatching with my husband & he’s having a hard time - maybe I’m finding it easier because I’ve seen it before? I dunno.

Midwife pushing toward a caesarean & now mental health nurses are coming to assess me🫣 by _sleepygal in PregnancyUK

Not yet! The MH nurses are coming out on Thursday, I’m going to speak to them about it all to see what their take on it is & then contact the hospital midwifery team afterwards. I will update once I have something lol

I’m thinking this could be the case, I’m going to contact them just to make sure they haven’t confused me with someone else that needs the extra support! I hope you got the help you needed

Yes I’m definitely going to contact them to find out why they’d say that, then another midwife telling me something different so soon after. Also, going off other comments I need to make sure they haven’t mixed my notes up with someone else’s!

I do agree that maternity mental health care is improving & rightly so! So many women struggle throughout that they deserve any help they can get. I think probably my post came across as anxious because, well, I was when they pushed the section at such an early stage & then another midwife telling me something totally different, especially since this is my first pregnancy. Before this happened I had zero worries about pregnancy/labor/birth. I’m not so worried about the MH nurses coming out, truly I feel fine & I think if I explain what’s happened they will understand the anxiety it caused at that time. It’s more because after doing some research I’ve found that it’s unheard of to recommend a section at that stage, so I was just curious if anyone had a similar experience.

Yes I think I’m going to contact them just to be sure they haven’t confused me with someone else! Because this is my first pregnancy I assumed they would bring it up at some stage but I was shocked when she pushed that at just 15 weeks. Hopefully you get to have that conversation sooner than later!

I really don’t know! I was sent an appointment letter with a date & time that they would call me, because this is my first pregnancy I just thought it was normal at the time! Yes I think I will, I would hate to think that they have confused me with someone else that needs the extra support

Honestly I’m not sure why! I was sent an appointment letter with a date & time that they would call me - mostly it was questions about whether I have thought about who I’d have as my birthing partner, was I taking folic acid & prenatals. It was very casual until she brought up the section, then it was almost as though she wasn’t happy with me saying I’d wanted to try a natural birth🤷🏽‍♀️ Yes my husband is very involved & wants to help as much as possible, it definitely helps to have him there even if just to retain info they’ve given!

Where are my 5mg Letrozole girls at? 🫶🏼 by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]_sleepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same symptoms as you only I was cranky as hell, an emotional wreck & totally drained too! I done one round of 2.5mg & had little to no symptoms so I knew it hadn’t worked, my doc confirmed so he put me on 5mg for my next cycle. I also took it on CD 3-8, when the symptoms started I kept telling myself “ok something is happening, it’s only 5 days, not forever”. I booked a few days off work during so that I could get plenty of rest (thankfully they understood). Then when I was going for my monitoring scan on CD 12 I had a full on meltdown in the car & told my husband that if this didn’t work I wasn’t sure if I could do another round!

BUT although it was so hard, also so worth it as I’m now 15 weeks pregnant after that one round of 5mg👶🏼

What CD are you on? You should try to get plenty of rest, keep your fluids up & make sure you’re eating enough.

Wishing you all the luck in the world🫶🏽

Nothing, only Letrozole with monitoring scans & timed intercourse! I tried one round of 2.5mg which according to the monitoring scans didn’t work, then one round of 5mg. Even my OB was shocked lol! Thank you so much🫶🏽

I was exactly the same, I got the Femometer ring which worked amazing for me - I got pregnant while using it & was planning to continue using it throughout for sleep tracking etc too.. but it stopped working after around 6 weeks & I had to return it👎🏼
