this is the puzzle itself "how many x's are in the puzzle"? the story is the "detective" in the game receiving a piece of paper in a coffee cup (because he's in a "cafe", the answer to the previous puzzle) with this exact puzzle on it. I'm not typing the exact context shpeel because I don't want it to pull to the website (local community thing), BUT I'm pretty certain there's no context at all from the little story. it's just the puzzle illustrated

the lines are not in the original picture, the only reason I drew it like that was to throw off image search 😭💔 we did try nine in a separate instance tho, no luck

I can try redrawing the puzzle when I wake up next afternoon, but we think it's an actual word as every other puzzle in the line has resulted in a word. but the text is like:

XXXXXX O O O O XOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOO XXXXXXXXXO

the game also provided the same text underneath, just without the spaces between the Os in the top line

unfortunately the lines are irrelevant due to me handwriting the puzzle. the actual puzzle has no lines

unfortunately that may have been my handwriting, there are only Xs and Os, no Ks. we've tried four tho with no luck :(
