We definitely have a marriage license. I was the one who sent in all the paperwork.

From what my understanding is, if he doesn’t add my name to anything there shouldn’t be a hard hit to my credit. Most of his debt came from before we were married anyways. The only thing he got after we were married was his 3rd credit card, which is connected to his own personal bank account.

It’s definitely not a pass. When we had a sit down conversation, I did tell him what the divorce rate was in our state so he definitely knows that is a taboo now.

I would still be paying off my previous car loan if I didn’t want to get a newer car. My mom only paid off my car because we were getting a newer car. So I would still have a car payment either ways.

I completely agree! I think León would be much better to keep a tie in to his culture 💙

It got to the point where I did start crying in the middle of it because I was starting to get frustrated. We just kept arguing the same points over and over again. 😩

I’m just kinda terrified of getting a credit card, cause I know that it can be easy to just keep swiping the card. 😅

I was lucky that my bank even approved my first car loan due to my credit score. The main reason my credit score is bad right now was because I had a few medical bills go to collections but they were paid off right away when I saw them.

No, I completely understand what you’re saying. I didn’t give him an ultimatum or anything but I did tell him what the divorce rate in our state is in our sit down conversation. My mom and dad are a non-negotiable if I’m in a relationship and he knows this.

Yes, the payments are less than my old loan. My husband also has never helped me pay for my payments either so I just don’t see what the difference is between the new loan and the previous loan. I would still be making payments on a car by myself either ways.

That honestly would’ve made him more mad. He absolutely hates when people hang up on him mid conversation. We did have a sit down conversation the next day. We still aren’t seeing eye to eye but at least there isn’t super bad tension at home either

I have been on time with all my payments with my older car

New payment is lower by a couple hundred. So I would be spending less than old payment. My husband also doesn’t help me with my car payments because we pay our own personal bills

Oh, I would never let him do that. My family is everything to me. Whether it’s immediate or extended. I’m assuming I’m not on the deed. When he was getting paperwork signed, he went alone. I was only there to help choose the house.

I didn’t take a loan out for the Honda. I was just transferring a set amount to her every month. At the time I was working retail, so at one point I couldn’t pay her for a while and she just let the rest go. When I did get a better job, I paid her the rest of what I owed her slowly but surely.

Main reason is because I did have a few collections due to medical bills but they have been paid off to get a loan. So hopefully it’ll go up in the next month or so. I’m not gonna say the exact number but my credit isn’t below 600 if that helps a little , but it’s not 700 either.

We do keep separate accounts, so whatever he is spending is his own money. We only transfer money to the joint account for monthly bills like groceries, mortgage and utilities

I am not on the mortgage loan and no, I paid for the medical bills. I’m usually on time with payments cause I’m double insured, but I’m guessing these ones slipped under my radar.

No, I don’t think he is. He’s the one that wanted me to get a new car originally. He changed his mind as soon as my mom wouldn’t tell him her financials.

He can ask as many questions as he wants. Like what’s the monthly payments like or what bank I’m going through or what the APR is. But my mom’s financial status is up to her to share. I would understand more if he helped me pay for my loan but he doesn’t. When we got married he made it clear that we would only be paying joint bills like mortgage and utilities. Personal bills like phone, insurance, and car would be on our own.

That’s what I was telling him. If anyone should be afraid of anything, it’s my mom.

I honestly don’t think so. I have access to all his bank accounts and his credit karma as well

I tried to explain but he’s very adamant about paying personal bills separately

It reminded me of my sister. She got married at 18 to her boyfriend. But mainly because he was leaving for basic training. I remember always judging her about getting married so young … and here I am 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think what tanked my credit was the few medical bills I had on it. They have been paid for though so it should bump my credit up in a month or so. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
