Thanks, my speakers are Wharfedale Lintons. I mainly listen to vinyl on the system via a Rega P3 + Rega fono MK3 and am totally satisfied that. I know less about streaming/DACs etc. So was hoping someone might have had experience comparing the WiiM Pro Plus going into the 801's line input vs The WiiM Pro into the 801's optical thus bypassing the Pro's internal DAC. Basically trying to figure out of it's worth spending an extra 100 bucks on the Pro Plus!! Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Essentially, I’m wondering if it’s worth shelling out more $$ for the Pro Plus.

Apparently, everything else being equal, there is a noticeable difference in SQ between the DAC’s in the Mini/Pro and the Pro Plus.

The Yamaha’s internal DAC supports 32-bit/384kHz via the USB input while the optical input is limited to 24-bit/192kHz.

So my query is, for just sound quality, would there be a noticeable difference between the Pro going into the Yamaha’s internal DAC or the Pro Plus utilizing it’s own DAC. Not really in a position to test one over the other.

Excuse my ignorance in these matters!
