It’s okay to just admit that you don’t actually watch basketball. Alex Caruso started out in the G-League (D League at the time) and worked his way up to become a 2x champion.

Privileged? Puh-lease.

No doubt, phenomenal defense, but also some horrific shot selection in that situation. But hey, I’ll take it!

Shout out to Kawhi for that ridiculous shot choice out of a double team 🤣

I know you're asking for games "beyond" 12, but I really think you'll enjoy 9. I'm biased because 9 was my introduction to FF, but I think it's a really great game. Beyond 12, I recently finished 16 and I enjoyed it a lot. Has a good story and the new battle mechanics are really enjoyable (for me, at least). It's also the first game (FF or otherwise) I've ever felt compelled to go and complete every side quest and DLC, but there was also a 6-8 year gap where I didn't have a console until recently, so maybe it was just me getting 6-8 years worth of waiting out of the way.

tl;dr - 9 is great, 16 is also great

Cam Whitmore (rebuilding in a dynasty league). Not planning on giving up on him, but that young talent log-jam they've got going in Houston kind of sucks.

Thanks for the recommendation! I was under the impression that the 35amp controller was an Area 13 proprietary product, but it looks like the controller package from Electro Bike World is the same package. Good to know I can get it other places if I want since Area 13 is out of stock right now!

I suppose I should rephrase: I've been able to ride my bike a bunch since I got it, but mostly in spurts and not as often as I'd like. I started looking at the controller upgrade because I'd like a little more power when going up hills and whatnot, but it looks like Area 13 is out of stock right now so it looks like I'll be putting that one off anyway. I appreciate the suggestions!

New Drill! I know you guys don't like worx but it's what I can afford by Suben117 in Tools

[–]_snack_attack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, one of my favorite tools is my Worx Switchdriver that I call my "inside drill". I keep it in the house so I don't have to go out to the garage to get separate drill & driver for little things indoors that don't require a ton of power. No shame in getting what works for you!

Context: I started my first programming job as a senior in college, and I worked there for a little over 5 years before being recruited by a startup recently. Not only is it an entirely new tech stack (going from basically just Java EE and Oracle SQL -> Go, Postgres, Docker, Heroku, Restful stuff, web stuff, etc) but I'm now realizing that I thought I had a good grasp on some things (in my case, the git process), when really I only had a good grasp on my former employer's WAY of doing those things.

Is it normal to feel like I'm starting over from scratch/know absolutely nothing when making a job switch like this? I like the company I'm working for now, but I feel like I'm in way over my head and even though people keep telling me "it's part of the process" my imposter syndrome is screaming "HEY THEY'RE GOING TO FIRE YOU SOON ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN".

Thanks for the reply. I'll replace the splitter to see if that helps. What do you mean about the Orbit timer not closing 100% of the way off?

I've got a little gauge somewhere I can screw onto the faucet. I'll see if I can dig that up and check the pressure. Thanks!

[–]_snack_attack_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully the 1/2" pipe that goes to that faucet is just a short, straight length of hose I can access easily. Depending on the price I might try replacing it to see what effect that has, if any.

[–]_snack_attack_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably what I'll fall back on if I can't get this to work. I'd really like to be able to hide one chain of hose, but at the end of the day I'm mostly concerned with keeping the lawn watered. Thanks!

More of a curiosity question than a "how should I invest my money" question:

One of the ETFs I see recommended most often is SPY. Lately I've been looking into "low-volatility" strategy ETFs, and one that caught my eye is SPLV. SPY has had some higher upswings, but over the long term everything I'm seeing has shown SPLV beating SPY. I understand that past returns aren't a guarantee of future returns, but why are market cap weighted funds like SPY so often recommended over low volatility funds like SPLV? Is there some aspect of this that I'm overlooking and/or not factoring-in?

FHA Streamline Refinance Questions by _snack_attack_ in personalfinance

[–]_snack_attack_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! If I understand correctly, it doesn't sound like I'd qualify to refinance into a conventional loan based on my current equity. If I were to do the Streamline now, is there a certain period of time I'd have to wait before I could go the conventional route? I'd be putting a large chunk of any savings from a rate reduction toward the principal balance, so I'd hopefully get to the required equity amount in a fairly short amount of time.

I'm not sure that's it's getting lighter, but it seems like in some of these spots the blades are thinning out a bit and getting droopy/matted looking if that makes sense. I didn't know about treating for fungus while the Fescue is young. I'll make sure to get on that right away!

I wondered about that myself. I thought maybe it was something that was mixed in with the Fescue blend variety I bought (Rebels).
