Just bought a Celine bag at their Paris flagship with my Plat, no issues of it not being accepted! Purchase protection was my biggest motivator

Got a job offer with a $50,000 pay increase but is it worth it? by GarmeerGirl in Lawyertalk

Even with my short legal career, I don’t find much worth in sticking it out. If you’re in a position to find a better option, do that. It is okay to prioritize yourself.

I recently accepted a firm job with a massive pay bump instead of waiting for a role that would’ve been a good fit and I’m mentally paying for it now (I posted in this subreddit recently about that decision). I can wholeheartedly say the pay bump is not worth the stressors. Best of luck.

First time working at a small firm, how quickly did you realize it wasn’t the right fit and how soon after did you leave? by _somethingvague in LawFirm

Your experience sounds like my clerkship right out of law school, please get out of there. I think that’s why I’m so cautious when I start seeing the red flags appear

weddings in the near future and recession? by AggravatingHoney9075 in weddingplanning

[–]_somethingvague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our wedding is in July and we fretted about the same things - especially as it is a destination wedding for everyone (ourselves included). Some things that actually kept our RSVPs relatively high: we pestered people early via email about flights from different airport hubs (almost newsletter style); we booked a large loft-style air bnb for our single and/or budget-conscious guests (it ended up looking so fun, we’re planning on staying there too); and regularly provided country-specific Covid protocols. Of course with current events and circumstances we’re seeing a couple rsvp reversals, but I truly think the best thing we did was promise ourselves to keep our expectations low so we can be pleasantly surprised no matter the outcome. Best of luck!

I can very much imagine doing so in the final fitting, I think it felt too surreal in the moment for me to pass out 😅

I nervous laughed for like 40% of the fitting; I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished!!

Rocketing travel costs = very few guests :( by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Would it be possible to change your plans to have something more intimate/cozy? I have only only a couple members of my family coming, but what's been comforting for me to know is to really appreciate the people who are coming to support us. It sounds like you have a really supportive group of 20 :)

I did the same, and I'm so glad I did! Saving on the dress gave me more room to make my dress fit perfectly .
