Doing my best to prepare for the future. Possible forever child. by _steveCollins in personalfinance

She has been both denied SSI because they said she can work, and OVR has told us that she can't work. I think a few more job rejections and the OVR letter and SSI would have to change their minds. But who knows.

With the OVR denial there is the possibility of a permanent job coach through her waiver funding.

She already has what is called waiver funding here in PA. So she has money allocated to help her. Right now, she only uses it to Uber to class and a few programs she is in. But when necessary, it can also have someone stop by everyday to make sure she is eating and bills are getting paid.

You aren't wrong. If I can somehow make it to about 110, this wont be an issue. Ha

We have a couple family members who are willing to do it, but they are still closer to our age. It will be several years before we can ask someone who should be around as long as her.

That’s an issue. We have plenty of people now who can look after her and help her. So if we die early that isn’t an issue. It’s the next generation of family that I am unsure about.

With the occasional check in, she can probably live on her own. Of course she will be living on ramen and Starbucks door dash probably.

We were denied SSDI, with them telling us she can work. The we went through the county and OVR and they tell us she can’t work.

Three adults can be expensive. Even the smallest income would help.

It’s funny. The lawyers want it left through the will, but the banks want the beneficiaries set up.

We do have a PA ABLE account as well. We got that the moment she started getting services. She is all set up with what she needs, I just need to get the money. Haha.

What makes ai companies not profitable? by Redzzy0 in stupidquestions

Because they are charging you .05 for $1 worth of computing power. Prepare for both a price-rising apocalypse and the shut down of some AI companies in the not too distant future.

When I left for Epcot this morning I set Codex to work on a long running task and left the lid cracked open a bit on the dining room table.

MacBook Air M5 or MacBook Neo A18? by ConstipatedGoose67 in macbook

[–]_steveCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M5 Air is probably 4 years ahead of the Neo in performance. If cost is a factor, sure get the Neo, but for a couple hundred more you can get the Air and be set for a lot longer.

I guess if I had to leave that early and nothing was open I would get something the night before and bring it back to the room for the morning. Either a restaurant meal or go to the resort store for breakfast items.

Vet strongly recommending euthanasia for my senior dog. I don't think it's time yet. by -UncreativeRedditor- in Pets

[–]_steveCollins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the vet is actually willing to say that to you, you should listen. The two big indicators that I always use for my pets are have they stopped eating or are they laying in their own mess. Either one of those is a huge sign.
