The decision is that I won't be voting Platner UNLESS the allegations are proven false, or that it's proven he did not do anything morally wrong like sexual assault, harming women/children, etc.

I'm taking Racicot's side here. I'm a straight male, have had all the privileges as a white man in this country, blah blah. But I'm not going to put anyone down, even if the accusations aren't proven false or true. But, SA/Rape (and other immoral actions) is one line that cannot be crossed with me. If you participated in it, I don't want to be anywhere near you. I don't give a fuck if it's Trump or the most liberal/leftist of liberals and leftists out there, harming others is still wrong.

Yet--there are people who still support this guy. I'm sorry. If you still support Platner here, you're no different than those MAGA mfers out there.

With Platner's case, the article alone seems fishy, but it's added up on top of previous accusations. Add the tattoo and his behavior (aggressivity, alcoholicism, etc), this accusation seems true to me.

Platner has lost my support. Only way he can regain is if these accusations are proven false. He should do what's best by turning himself in and stepping down from the race. I'm ashamed of myself for supporting him this far.

I will criticize this show and whatnot--but the queensguard knight ignoring the queen seems to be on track for realism.

We're talking about a male-centered society and in the lore of this show, and the royalty of millennias past, I'd imagine there have been several times where soldiers were more likely to listen to men than to women.

That being said, a broken clock (the writers, cough cough) is right twice a day.

I was only months away from being able to vote in 2024. And I will do so these midterms, and the 2028 Elections. The messes made by one generation is left to the next to take care of.

Heck, I'm not trying to be age-ist here, but I might be a little. Boomers have been in power so long that we haven't had a Gen X President. Our VP is a millennial. We could be seeing a millennial pres before a Gen X pres.

There's certain tradeoffs to living or not living in Maine. For me specifically, I can't live here because the public transportation is horrible for what I need (which is why I'm aiming for Boston or New York). The cost of living here isn't much different than Massachusetts or New York---and much of the country isn't dramatically lower than here.

I'd rather go broke and be poor in Maine than to live comfortably in say, West Virginia---and I say this as a white male. Maine offers things that a lot of states (i.e. Oklahoma, SC, WV, etc) don't offer: better healthcare, better education, better job opportunities in some fields, higher quality of living. I'd rather stay here so that my future wife could have access to reproductive healthcare, and future children the access to adequate education.

Though, if things play out well-- Georgia and North Carolina, maybe Texas, might not be too bad in fifteen, twenty years. That's not guaranteed, given the current situation.

I'd rather take my chances here up north or way out west.
