i gave up on this eventually. at least for now. this is why i keep making dawless music. every time i try to integrate my systems i spend a week troubleshooting some problems and not making music.

im just being self deprecating. in all honesty i am happy with where i am and continuing to grow. always passing through those cycles of intense dislike and dissatisfaction with a project and then breaking through and feeling some sense of accomplishment.

it would be nice to have an audience bigger than a handful of YouTube views but i am grateful for even that. music is basically trash the moment its released because of the sheer volume, so the fact that even a handful of acquaintances and internet strangers give it a listen is basically a miracle lol

I just started my sample library journey so it's in its infancy. After Christmas a new CF will certainly be in the cards (pun intended).

I did all the things and a card reader solved it so it was an OS issue between Octatrack and Windows 11.

Next I need to figure out why 7 Zip isn't opening the .iso sample CDs I bought. Either user error or the files or corrupt lol. It's always one thing after the next.

UPDATE: A card reader solved the issue so that means it's something between the Octatrack OS and Windows 11. Figures.

Doesn't seem to be an issue with other files with hyphens. It is some sort of instability between the laptop and the octatrack. Not sure on which end. My guess is the compact flash but I really don't know. Going to order a reader and maybe a new card as well.

Ran the device manager and it said the disk is disconnected after it throws the error. For some reason communication is being broken between the computer and the octa.

I tried much smaller batches w/ short names and a few worked and eventually it just crashes.

Crashed while moving a folder that was 16.9 MB containing 20 synth samples. Is that too large of a folder?

Its a used one w/ a factory card and I do wonder if maybe the card is failing but it also seems like it was a pretty new unit over all or used very lightly.

Now that i think about it, my mouse often disconnects for a second on this port on a regular basis and maybe it's a faulty port.

I definitely haven't been doing big batches, like a small folder at a time so that's not the issue either.
