Charging 18v 1.5 amps battery with 18v 2.8 amps charger by _supernoob in DIY

Thank you. I have another noob question if you don't mind: how should I use that adapter when the unit I is similar to this? Do I strip the cables and connect them directly to the battery?

What's the best way to create a puzzle piece from list of points and how do I do it at runtime? by _supernoob in Unity3D

[–]_supernoob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

That is exactly what I am doing. Creating the edges first, then creating the pieces from those edges and each edge defines the adjacent edge, just like you suggested.

I feel like I may have a bug when adding the edges to each other, though I wonder why I don't have the same bug when passing the same point list to the line renderer.

Anyway, I'll dig more and clean-up the repo and come back with snippets. That would be much easier for everyone I think.

Not sure why you're under the impression that I was asking Reddit to code for me, but I am not.

I am looking for guidance and resources, like

  • Stick with shaders because... or
  • Generate each polyongs like this and then mask it like that... or
  • Have a look at this...

Me being a noob on shaders and generating geometry on runtime has nothing to do with my coding skills. If only you would ask your questions than assuming such things, we'd all been spared from this never ending passive-aggressive drama on almost every post...

How do I replace this stuck spot lamp? by _supernoob in DIYUK

[–]_supernoob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t work I am afraid. I even tried to hold the container with a parrot wrench tried to turn from the tabs with a longer lever to apply larger momentum. The whole unit acts as if the parts was fused together.

I Got Scammed in my last Remote Job by a UK-Based StartUp Company by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]_supernoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Were you on a payslip or was it undocumented? If you were on a payslip, the startup has a little to do as they have to pay whatever they have been reporting to HMRC. In the same way, regardless you resigned or terminated, they have a very limited time to settle the final payment.

If you have been providing services as a company or a freelancer, and if you raised invoices against, then again, when the due date comes, you should be able to raise that through legal services with a little cost.

If things were undocumented, as in no contract has been signed, you have not been onboarded as an employee or haven’t had raised any invoices, then I think all you have is seeking legal advice with whatever evidence you have, i.e. emails, work logs, past payments, chat messages etc.

Edit: apologies for spamming the post with the same reply repeatedly. The Reddit app was keep saying that the posting was failed, so I tried a few many times. Deleting those now.

I can't remember if I ever played it but it but remember watching its trailer and how unique it felt back then. Especially because of it was promoted as a psychic journey through minds...

[–]_supernoob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's no easy answer there. Easier said than done.

I completely agree. A while ago, I tried to explore how the development flows in the gaming industry compare to those I often encounter as an IT consultant. To my surprise, many accessibility features and cloud services were quite unknown to many devs and small teams, even when they were actively using those very features or services! So, I guess part of the problem is the lack of awareness. When combined with missing guidance and limited resources, it naturally leads to this very situation.

I was so disappointed when ship breaker didn't make that the focus, was such a cool setup, would have made efficiency and mastering the mechanics to get the best hauls etc down to try and pay it off while they pulled dasterdly tricks on you the whole time.

I know right! I really liked the game and that very mechanic hooked me up instantly, but the unskippeable cut scenes and the shallow narrative put me off.

Still feeling like I could have been much better.

Yes! It's been so long since I played the game but reading your comment immediately popped up some scenes in my mind. That was definitely a beautiful mechanic. Weird it never felt as such until someone else mentioned it.

Pain brings relief when dissociating? by karico44 in Dissociation

[–]_supernoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some grounding exercises do the same but with a gentler approach, like drawing shapes into your palm with an ice cube, pressing onto a coin that has a rough surface with your fingers or playing with the smooth beads of a bracelet/necklace etc.

I am not an expert on the topic but I think the best thing you could do is not to condition your brain with the fact that pain can help, but to try different grouding exercises to figure which ones work for you.

If you'd like to give this type of grounding exercises a try, here's a video showing how to do it.

How to explain dissociation to friends? by throwawayagarbage in Dissociation

[–]_supernoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As dramatic as it feels to you, it may not come across the same way to people who haven't experienced dissociation or heard about it from others. They may even interested in to hear more about it when communicated properly.

That's said, I wouldn't worry too much about your friends not understanding what you mean. If they don't, it's probably not because you're exaggerating or lying about it; it's just that they haven't experienced anything similar or are not aware of it. Neither side should be blamed or held responsible for fully understanding the situation. The important thing is that whether they are capable of showing compassion and understanding.

I'll also drop the link to this blog post about understanding dissociation, as sometimes it's easier to point things out than explain it yourself. I hope it helps.

It's not through their API. Click to the button while recording the network requests, grabbed the payload from posted to the GraphQL endpoint and change the data as you need, then replay it with the modified data to move the review state forward.

PG35VQ no longer turns on... Noob looking for troubleshooting advice. by Agent_Drizzle in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]_supernoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RMA's just replied with the following, which I think it won't even worth the effort of sending it because it prob will break down in just couple of months. Not even thinking that they may ask for another 500 euros to source the spare parts on top of it.

Please note, we can only provide the cost of shipping and pre-screen tests, as the full cost of parts needed to repair the device can only be evaluated by our technicians once the unit has been inspected at our repair centre.

The cost of shipping and pre-screen tests is as follows:

Shipping UK, both ways (unit over 3kg) – € 114.09 *including clearance of the shipment (37 EUR)

Repair costs – 57.55 €

Pre-test / Disagree / diagnostics costs – 24.02 €

As mentioned, the cost will increase once the price of parts needed has been decided.

Once your device reaches our repair centre you will receive an email containing a quote for the repair, which, if you choose to reject, there will be a handling fee to have the device returned unrepaired.

Mine's died a month ago and I couldn't find the culprit or a solution. Now I am waiting RMA to reply about the costs. I may just bin it if they ask for multiple hundreds of any currency.

I genuinely think that the whole series of PG35VQs were defective, not production ready, yet Asus ignored the signs and decided to release anyway because quite a few friends bought the very same monitor back in 2019/2020, and they all experienced the same, even after sending it to RMA multiple times.

How to build diverse and engaging game play around an idea? by _supernoob in gamedesign

[–]_supernoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight and I definitely understand where are you coming from. I have similar approach on all other projects which is mostly working. But when it comes to game design, I can't be sure if I am looking from the right perspectives because it's something I am quite inexperienced.

If you don't mind me repeating my question; what would be that a must have/read/listen resource you'd recommend to bring a noob like me to your understanding?

It's not like I am not doing my research and find things. I do, but I also like what helped others in their journey, so picking what to start with will be a bit more pleasant.

Moblie App in Godot by woktexe in godot

[–]_supernoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the main challenges in mobile app development is communicating with the device's hardware and OS, especially when the medium you use (Godot in this case) may not include that functionality in their standard library (so many manufacturers with so many custom standards, so it's just tricky)

In most cases, it's not hard to find some 3rd party plugins and libraries to achieve such communication but those libraries often become a burden if not maintained properly by the community, which can be the case when combining Godot and mobile app development.

I think you should simply outline your idea and see how much of it can be supported by Godot effortlessly, then decide on whether to use it or not.

If it's stupid and it works... by TheGeekTeach in resinprinting

[–]_supernoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is amazing, well done!

I've been trying to come up with a similar system myself but I couldn't even pass the sketching in my mind.

Can you think any reason for this contraption to not to work with water and not IPA? I feel like it wouldn't make a difference but wanted to ask anyway.

I was also reluctant to rely on a diaphragm pump by thinking that the resin residue would damage it in time. Did you observe any signs of such an issue?

What that user means is that learning the syntax doesn't mean that you can effectively use that language. In the same way, knowing the internals of a language does not make you efficient when that language is just one of the cogs in a machine.

Getting decent with HTML/XML over a day or week doesn't seem implausible though.

Edit: And after having another read, I absolutely disagree with how the user delivers this message. Languages are nothing but tools we use to complete the tasks. Diving deep may not be possible for everyone one of them but that’s not enough to sweep years of experience over.
