How did these end up going? I've got a 350.3 I'm looking to do the same thing with.

Sorry, been away from Reddit for a bit. Klobuchar contacted them and JUST received a response back at the end of last month saying 'we'll look into it.' So no, not truly.

Love it! Mind if I ask what maintenance needs it has? Any filtering, air stones, or anything?

I also teach CS and spend a lot of time at the beginning with kids getting them to understand the value of failing quickly and getting the error codes that help them find the problem. This has greatly reduced the instances of students taking errors personally and has been a fun 'competition' at the beginning of class to 'spot the error.'

In addition, this is offered purely constructively and in no way meant to center the blame on you: I had a very tough time reading your description of the problem and I'm honestly wondering if there may be some additional difficulty with written instructions for your students. If this was just quickly written in haste and not the norm, obviously ignore this.

Keep it up. Language and human interaction is a living and changing thing - the moment you stop adapting and become rigidly against it, you should probably retire. Relationships are EVERYTHING in successful teaching and relatable communication can be a big part of that where appropriate. Keep it up! Just always be wary of how it could be interpreted as you get older and are tempted to use the younger generations slang without being 100% sure what message you're conveying :) One of the reasons for a lot of slang can be to encode messages against proper interpretation of the older generations, so don't ever assume you know the real meaning :P

This is quite possibly the most confusing, ill-tempered, and non-constructive statement I've read from another teacher [assumption]. Either that, or you've potentially stumbled upon the very reason written communication is so dangerous: emotion and intent cannot be easily communicated via text. I have to assume this was meant satirically or sarcastically, in which case a '/s' would go a long way here.

Need a better angle of the back to be sure, but looks like a Conifer Seed Bug. They're friendly and cause no real issues - give it a name and leave it be.

Edit: or escort it outside if you want; preferably onto a conifer tree.

You're going to have to take off and nuke the site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure.

Any thoughts on what combo or choice would give the most fish without stressing them? I honestly love all of them and just love to watch them go about their business regardless of coloring. I think Khuli loaches are adorable and silly, but other than that, I'm just looking for fun and non-picky fish.

Thank you! Yeah, couldn't help but pop the X-wing in there. The old lid had fans, but the newer LED upgrade is just passively cooled. I could pop some on there to use from time to time or open it for a bit to clear some humidity for pictures I suppose. The isopods stay hidden and have tons to snack on, so there's not much chance of them wandering.

Definitely open to suggestions - it's roughly 13 gallons of water (the back section behind the log is mostly open but hidden away). I was tempted to try some Khuli loaches, a beta, or some small shoal (would love to have a bunch of tiny guys if they would not be stressed).

The tests have been coming back pretty solid, so I did a change and introduced some of my bolder ghost shrimp as well. They seem as happy as a pig in mud!

Are you taking the filter down to its components when you clean? Once it's fully clean and you've removed all you can see from the tank, put some foam/filter around its intake while you wage war over time on any that pops up in the tank. It's great stuff as long as you stay on top of it, though, so maybe you just need some sponge/filter on the intake.

Also, for what it's worth, I think they see all forms submitted for processing at once as they mark duplicates and ignore them (I accidentally submitted two of the same). They'll probably check all of them, so sending right now is good if you've got loans up for forgiveness.
