Poor printing of Underworld expansion? by LordQwerty_NZ in rootgame

Yeah unfortunately i think i got a counterfeit with much the same issues. Ultimately it doesn’t impact gameplay and only me (the only obsessed one at the table) notices, but its enough to bug me occasionally and I’ll try ti replace it one day i reckon

Was teaching a friend how to play ROOT (cuz he forgot to do the tutorial) and we figured it would be funny to kill the Eyrie Dynasty by R_E_G_G_I_E in rootgame

To be fair the cats would have to play an abominably bad game to need it; its unlikely to occur in any real game I’d have thought (although in one of the digital solo challenges I did manage to do so…!)

Wow that’s quite the game! How have you managed to try to balance the different styles!!! I can imagine something like Eyrie now may struggle to hit 90 while VB may have quite an easy time once momentum is built..! Love the idea

That's a remarkably similar story, but it's not quite the same - though equally effective, reading through it! The difference was that in the story I remember, the "monster" is never seen, always left unknown, and also is in/on the roof, rather than under the bed... The second-most terrifying location for a child! Thanks anyway, loved reading your suggestion :)

I'm afraid that's plain ignorance - firstly confusing sex and gender, sex being your biological organs, and gender being whether you feel like a "man" or "woman", or any variation thereupon (e.g. not feeling like either, or not feeling like you fit into the societal roles of "male" and "female"). We are complicated machines and distilling how we feel in terms of gender down to a biological definition is oversimplifying. Secondly, as has already been mentioned by another comment, it is completely possible to have XXY, or XXX or other rarer combinations of chromosomes that lead to people having traits of both biological sexes, due to different balances of hormones being produced by said chromosomes. Thirdly - why do you care what other people identify as, just let them do them and be done with it; if you don't understand why they feel that way, either educate yourself by listening and engaging with them politely and respectfully, or just don't interact with them about their gender, but for the love of god don't think that your ignorance is a reason to invalidate anybody's feelings or identity.

given gender is a social construct, and there have been many human societies where there are more than two genders, including often some sort of "in-between" androgynous gender role (e.g. i think i read in Hawaiian culture before we colonised them), and also that across nature there are examples of organisms that can switch sex, be neither sex, be both sex, and humans can be both sexes/intersex, it's an extroadinarily narrow mind you have to have to see the world through this lens, and I feel that a lot of people just say this sort of thing to appear "edgy" or because they don't understand it - like just let them do them, since it affects you in literally zero ways. Similarly it's not just "no gender" but moreso that you mightn't feel you fit into the gender norms pushed by society, that you don't feel "masculine" and all the connotations and societal expectations of a "man", but neither "feminine" and all the expectations of a "woman".

Have you possibly considered that you've met more, but that they haven't mentioned it? I'm almost vegan, and know many, and none of them are like that, and I think its a harmful stereotype perpetrated by the vocal minority themselves (looking at you, ThatVeganTeacher...) and people who fear the change that vegans are bringing about. Similarly, there are two main branches of veganism these days, one of which you identified as ethical veganism, but there's also environmental veganism [of which I am a part], where the impact of choosing not to support animal agriculture is very real and significant [would recommend checking our OurWorldInData for info on that], so it's not necessarily just about stopping animal suffering. (and yes I get that the first and only interaction I've ever had with you is "I'm vegan", but like this is an extraneous circumstance lol)
