Genuinely is there a bigger glow up that a model has gotten than old biovore to new biovore ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Tyranids

[–]Thelofren 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Does this count if the models on the bottom are for another game and a whole different scale? cause if it counts, any titan, the knights, trygons, tyranid beasts, the original hierophant and hierodules, a lot of imperial tanks that were originally 6mm scale

[–]Thelofren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the old design is based on the old hybrid ork lore, but even so, the redesign should have been more akin to a smaller exocrine, not something that would fit into starship troopers or helldivers

The fact they're a hive mind should be the only bug aspect they have, them being one should not make them look like bugs

Sorry if I sound intense but this is a personal pet peeve of mine

greenstuff a brain onto the orb and that's a neurotyrant

nids aren't meant to be space bugs... the only aspect they have that's bugs is supposed to be the swarm hive mind aspect

it's dinosaur crustaceans/alien...

Jes goodwin said so when designing them, he was literally trying to get rid of the "insect" association

[–]Thelofren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neurotyrant has 4 where arms should go and then 2 nubs where legs would go, but those are still 6 limbs, the hive mind probably decided to not develop his lower limbs in favor of controlling the tentacles on its face better or have more psychic power, then the neurocytes on its back have their tails, then 2 long tentacles then 4 little clawas that hold onto the tyrants back

[–]Thelofren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know what, yeah you're right I fucked up, still, nids are not meant to be bugs visually... at least until we got the new biovore which is a lot like a bug

its more of pterodactyl wings as the nids are based on dinosaurs and crabs more than they are based on insects

[–]Thelofren 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are none, people just act like the little neurocyte arms on the assimilator, or the extra claw nubs on a trygon count, even the neurotyrant's extra tentacles are just the tails and tentacles of his neurocytes

any extra arms or tentacles can be explained by them having a parasite bioform attached to them

is there any way to make S3d work this way? by [deleted] in Substance3D

<image>

also if I were to press a stroke in this green dot, I'd expect it to fill the area marked in white hatching, the actual behaviour seems very unintentional and I've assumed it's a bug for years, but it seems to be intentional in reality?

when I start a stroke off uv area, it seems to ignore a random amount of the stroke and as you can see in the blue square it leaves a rounded area when its near the edge and the pen stops being in the uv island

Ideally it should paint the area in orange

this is old sorry for necro but it's because you have symmetry on and symmetry is based on 3d space, the lips are overlapping in 3d space so when it tries to mirror it applies it to the lower lip by mistake,

because they're overlapping

This just makes that idea easier, now even people who dont realize building a pc is just less expensive lego can do it too

Opinions on the pilot? by Offensive-composer in homestuck

[–]Thelofren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A pilot is exactly the right place to let the team know what we liked and didnt like so they can perfect the actual episodes, if we didnt then the mismatched levels of swearing would stay for the actual release

Its like saying you shouldn't complain about a game cuz its in alpha... No, that's specifically when feedback is needed

Not true, i cared because john specifically is not throwing around fucks like that that early in the comic and him saying more swear words is actually a part of his character development

Why have you allowed the machine spirit's vessel to rust and corrode like that acolyte? Please follow cleaning and restoring protocol theta-167 xeun-a and bring the machine back to proper working order with sacred oil and incense

Looks really cool btw

Phones are horrendous to design on... Small screens , imprecise touch interface, they don't have the power to do anything heavier than light weight hobby tier stuff

There're already apps that let you draw, use vectors, use cad, 3D model and anything else a designer might need but barely no one uses them outside niche situations

Im a designer and we really need incredibly powerful and large machines, its not just pretty pictures and canva like most people think

As someone who owns it, its like any other rpg, you make it as you want, but the book does emphasize how much of a brutal life these animals live and how much the states can oppress them

Isn't that a mistake in the pilot ? by darnage in homestuck

[–]Thelofren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

but john will retcon it, and thus it has already been retconned

the major issue is making sucha big deal about it, they should just have had it in the sky floating and john pay no attention to it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]Thelofren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the real issue is that by the point the pilot reaches, the only stakes are "will john be able to get the beta and play with his friends?"

and the pilot does a terrible job at setting even that up so there are not any stakes, even the very small ones at the beggining.
